Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2009
This is the best ever! We've cooked this one many times for many people and everyone always loves it. We add a little Worcestershire sauce and cut back a tad on the salt. (The soy sauce already has enough for the dish.) This one comes highly recommended by my whole family!!

Best Ever Saucy Beef Kabobs

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2009
Unfortunately, this one was neither "the best" or "saucy". We were left craving other kabobs we had made in the past.

Neat Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2009
Tasty! I think we'll add more seasonings next time, but this was better than the canned stuff.

Grilled Gyro Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2009
Awesome! We eat at a Middle Eastern restaurant and this recipe hit the mark. The "slaw" was so similar to what we enjoy eating out. It was not complicated to make and had a punch of flavor. I think the pita bread we used was a little stale as it was impossible to make a pocket for the meat. We will defiantly make this one again. Thank you!!

Linguine with Peppers and Sausage

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2009
No flavor at all! The ingredients showed promise, but the sauce lacked punch. Too bad, it had potential.

Spicy Rapid Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2009
Winner! Winner! Chicken Dinner! The chicken was moist and the skin was flavorful. Next time we make this, we are going to put the seasonings under the skin to season the meat a little better. Thank you for this one! We loved it!

Chicken Curry I

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2009
We love curry and this one was a disappointment. It smelled amazing, but lacked flavor. We feel adding the water diluted the spices.

Awesome Korean Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2008
Phenomenal! We make this exactly as instructed to. We recently changed a beef marinade recipe to this one for Korean Bi Bim Bop. It really adds a new dimension of flavor to the dish. Thank you for this post!

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
My fav new Chili! We used 1 lb of ground beef (to make smaller portion and save cash). We also used 2 cans spicy chili beans, white onion, skipped celery, only used 1 green bell pepper, skipped bacon bits, used beef broth instead of bouillon and an entire bottle of Pilsner Urquell. Throw some sharp cheddar and chopped red onions on top and fresh French bread on the side. Enjoyed by the whole family on a cold Colorado night. mmm mmm Good!

Hidden Secret Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
These weren't bad burgers, but they weren't what we were looking for. Although the temp wasn't too hot, it was spicier than I would prefer my burgers.

Warm Steak and Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
We were almost finished making this one before we discovered it was one salad rather than a "potato salad". (Maybe it would help to read the instructions entirely before starting!) I would have called it "Salad with Warm Steak and Potatoes". We loved the dressing over the steak, but would skip out on the potatoes next time.

Brooklyn Girl's Penne Arrabiata

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
We loved the bread crumbs as a substitution for flower on the chicken. It made for a lighter taste. We will defiantly make this one again.

Mexican Style Shredded Pork

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
Yum Yum! We skipped out on the lime and cilantro on the rice as we don't care for cilantro. Thanks for the contribution!

Garlic and Onion Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2008
These made some tasty burgers. We made a few revisions. Rather than old boring salt, we used seasoned salt. We skipped out on the Italian seasoning and opted for several dashes of liquid smoke instead. They were a big hit for the fourth of July this year. We're planning on doing them again onc we get our grill.

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2008
This was a great and tasty dish. I was in a hurry shopping for groceries and accidentally bought jalapeños instead of green chilies. It was a little spicy for my taste, but we loved the dish with the extra kick. We'll make it again, but with a little less spice.

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2008
Considering the high rating of this one, we were disapointed. It lacked flavor, any good flavor at least. Next time we make a shrimp recipe, we'll probably try something cajun.

Roasted Tomato Salsa I

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
I was happy to finally see a salsa with fresh ingredients! I wasn't sure about the roasting part, but we followed this one to the letter. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. I think we were after something more along the lines of a "garden salsa". We'll give it another shot, but skip the roasting part.

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
This was good chili if you are after the "run of the mill" chili. I could have used a little more flavor, but the flavor that was there definitely said "chili". Thanks for this one!

Hot Spiced Cider

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
I skip on the brown sugar, salt, and orange. I sub whole allspice for ground, cinnamon stick for ground cinnamon, and use apple juice. I'm usually the only one who wants any so I make it 1 cup at a time and "wing it" on the measurements. I strain out the clove and "floaties" from the other spices. It makes a tasty hot treat on a cold Colorado winter night.

Herbed Vegetable Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
I was searching for a veggie side dish and thought we'd give this one shot. We were pretty disappointed in the outcome. The combination of flavors did not seems to fit with the vegetables. They were a bit watery too. I don't recommend this one if you like powerful flavor.
