Simple Hamburger Stroganoff

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2012
I'm giving it five stars based on these adjustments: I sauteed the ground beef with a small chopped onion and about three cloves of minced garlic. I used fresh mushrooms, only 4 oz cream cheese and only one can of soup (i used cream of celery). Also, I didn't have any brown gravy mix and dissolved two beef bullion cubes in the beef as it cooked. This flavor combination was delicious!

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2008
Wonderful recipe! After looking over the other reviews, I decided to cut back on the amount of cheese. I used 1 cup of crumbled feta and 1 cup of mozarella. I made mini quiches using mini muffins pans. They were very easy to make and a big hit at my baby shower brunch. This recipe is a keeper!

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
I've made about 40 dozen of these cookies as party favors and gifts in the past 4 months. They are a huge hit and I'm getting special requests to make more. I make the cookies a bit smaller and do not use raspberry filling but instead fill after they've cooled completely with colored icing. For this icing, I use 2 c confectioners sugar, 3/4 tsp almond, and milk to just runny consistency. The icing will set overnight. I recommend using salted butter.

Chocolate Fudge Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
I'd been looking for a good chocolate buttercream frosting for the cupcakes I seem to make constantly when I ran across the recipe a few weeks ago. I wanted a more mild chocolatey taste so I melted a cup of Giradelli milk chocolate chips and used it in place of the fudge topping. This is now my primary chocolate frosting.

Shredded Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2009
my friends and i had brussel sprouts cooked this way at a local restaurant during the holidays. we've been trying to find the perfect recipe since then. THIS IS IT! only change i made was to add half a can (~8 oz) of chicken broth to simmering sprouts. i also cut mine instead of shredding them (cut stem ends off Brussel sprouts, discard discoloured outside leaves. cut in half lenghtwise, then slice crosswise to make thin strips)

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies IV

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2009
This recipe made excellent cookies. Exactly what I wanted. I doubled everything and used a 12 oz bag white chocolate chips and a 6 oz bag macadamia nut pieces. I chilled the dough slightly before forming small balls to make cookies.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
I would give this recipe 10 stars if I could. Only changes to ingredients I made were I used: 1. crushed oreos for crust (if you do this, you can leave out the additional sugar in crust) and 2. bagged white chocolate chips. My oven runs very hot, so I reduced the temp to 300 for first 30 mins and increased to 325 for last 30 mins. Also used water bath. Came out perfectly, no cracking at all. Drizzled extra sauce on plate, then slice of cheesecake, and topped with a little whipped topping and one whole raspberry. Rivals anything you might get at a nice restaurant. Really great recipe.
