About this Cook
I am a dedicated mother of three, mother-in-law of one, and soon to be first time grandma!! Most of my family memories revolve around food and the fellowship found by sharing a good meal. I love watching my daughters come into their own with their cooking. I hope they have as many fond memories of the meals I make for them as I do of the meals my mother and grandmother made for me.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make simple meals from whatever I happen to have on hand. Sometimes the least elaborate meal is the best.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love it when my family gathers to make tamales around Christmas-time. I also get a big kick out of being in the kitchen with my oldest daughter on holidays, sharing the responsibilities for getting a great meal on the table (takes all day to cook at 20 minutes to eat).
My cooking triumphs
Making my first prime rib for a Christmas dinner was my greatest triumph. I was so proud of myself!
My cooking tragedies
My greatest tragedy was the first meal I made for my husband after we were married...I gave him food poisoning.

The Perfect Marinade
Used this with flank steak. I left out the sesame seeds and only used half the ginger. Didn't have two hours to marinate but an hour was plenty. So delicious!

Chicken Noodle Casserole I
My family loved this, although one daughter thought adding peas would be a great addition. Next time I make this, I need to pay closer attention to the amount of noodles. I put in a whole package of egg noodles and it came out a little dry. Delicious flavor!

Bacon-y Bok Choy
Really liked the flavor. I think if I make this again, I'll cut the bok choy down some. Great recipe for trying out a new veggie.
