Tuscan Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2010
This soup was amazing! I followed all directions and added great northern beans, garlic and diced tomatoes and we loved it! Definitely spicy sausage a must! My only suggestion is to drain the sausage before you add the other ingrediants, this way you keep the oil out of your soup. Enjoy!

Southwest Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
I hate to be the neysayer here..but this was bland, bland bland..I put chilli powder on the chicken before I browned it, I added more than enough cumin at the end..and nothing..no taste. The only upside was that it did look good and pretty. Sorry to disagree with the rest..but this definitely needs a kick somewhere.

Scott Hibb's Amazing Whisky Grilled Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2010
I am from Kansas City and consider myself a conisuere of bbq sauces and I'm telling you...this was FANTASTIC! I didn't have a grill so I cooked them in the oven for 2hrs then pulled them out, put bbq sauce on them, covered back up for 20 minutes, then back out again, placed in a 9x13 pan w/o foil and broiled them until the sauce carmelized. Delish!

Curry Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
I hate to burst everyone's bubble here but I didn't think this soup was all that fantastic. It was a good basic start..but absolutely no pizzaz. I won't suggest how to change it be/c everyone has differnt likes. But as the recipe is written it's only 3 stars.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: May 9, 2009
The taste of this pot pie was fantastic! I do have a suggestion after reading several other reviews. I doubled the 'sauce' part of this per other suggestions. I also cooked it at 375 for 45 minutes. My suggestion would be to not double the sauce but to add a cream of chicken soup instead. I prefer my pot pies to be creamy versus juicy. This is just a preference thing and not a must do. The premade Pillsbury crusts worked perfectly at this tempt with the egg whites put on top.

Florentine Curried Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
Oh my goodness was this great! I made 3 chx breasts but used the recipe for 4 of them. I cooked this for 50 minutes and not a minute more and the chx was juicy and extremely easy to cut, almost like butter! My husband's only complaint was it tasted a little salty. I think this was the combination of the regular soup and cheese. Next time I'll buy the low sodium soup and see if that helps. Just so you know I poured on the paprika and was generous with the curry powder adn this just made the recipe. Definitely a keeper!

Herb Dumplings with Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
This was excellent and my husband really liked it as well. I was a little worried about the dumplings and how they were suppose to cook but they turned out great! Don't sweat the process!

Mexican Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
This was really good and my 2 year old enjoyed it. My only suggestion is to use a whole package or 2 packages of the taco seasoning. This will give it more flavor otherwise it's a little bland.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
These were good but I had one problem. When I cooked them I sprayed the Pam on them, like suggested, and my oven started to smoke like it was on fire! So, if you decide to bake them completely REMOVE them from the oven, spray, then put back in. The only other suggestion I have is shaking off the excess flour with a strainer before you put them in the oven. This helps with even baking. If not you'll end up with flour still on some wings.

Lemon String Beans

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
I boiled the beans for 10 minutes, removed into a bowl and then covered them in one large lemons juice and garlic salt. I thought they were a great side dish and I didn't even bother with the oil.

Best Peanut Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
I thought this was excellent! Extremely easy and really saved a peanut chicken receipe I made from this sight. I didn't even follow the directions completely be/c I was in a hurry and it still was fantastic. Thanks!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2007
Like everyone else I found this fantastic! To save some money (fresh fruit can be expensive!) I used the frozen fruit from the freezer section. I did use fresh strawberries and kiwis but I put in frozen blueberries, raspberries and peaches. I didn't use any of the extra sugar and I tell you I'm glad I didn't. It was perfectly sweet. The first time I made it I made my own chips but after that I bought store chips. I found the fresh chips good but time consuming and I couldn't get them consistantly crispy. I liked this so much I shared it with my receipe group last month. Enjoy!

Vanilla Crepes

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2007
I tell you what, I lived in Germany for 6 years and have become a 'crepe specialist';) I could not have told you the difference between these crepes and the ones I ate fresh out of the stands in Frankfurt. I used Nutella as the filling on the inside..heaven! Thanks so much for this recipe! Brings back fantastic memories.

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2007
I thought this was excellent! I followed the advice of others, little more curry, less butter and it was perfect! I also put the onion in. I used chicken breasts instead of bone and the flavor was great. Thanks!

Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2007
My husband and I are real Indian food conniseurs (sp?) and we really liked this recipe! We did add more masala than the recipe called for along with more chilli powder, we like it spicey! I also added the ground cashews for thickening as was suggested. This was great and considering we can't find an Indian place this side of Texas we'll be cooking it again!

Oatmeal Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2007
I hate to be the odd man out here but I was not impressed with this recipe. I had a hard time getting the oatmeal to stick to the chicken. After I put it in the pan the chicken look dirty (due to the spices-chilli pepper and paprika)and not appetizing at all. I'm glad others opinions were a little different.

Lobster Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2007
I really liked this recipe. Great for lunch and quick to make. I used imitation crab meat instead of lobster (hard to find lobster in Texas!) and it still was good. My husband liked it as well. I would pull the crab meat apart instead of leaving it in huge hunks just so the overall effect is a little more saladie.

Chicken Pecan Wraps

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2007
Strangely enough the only difference between this and a fajita was the cut of the roll. I mean yes, you did put pecans in it, but I personally didn't think the chicken had much flavor even with those. I would add everything separately to the roll instead of cooking it together. Liked the overall idea, but wasn't crazy about the orginal recipe.

Fish Fillets Italiano

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2007
No kidding this was amazing! I'm not one to hand out 5 stars easily. I'm also not a person to comfortable cooking fish, but I'm telling you this was excellent. I added the 1/2tea salt and pepper and Italian seasoning as someone else suggested. I also used Italian diced tomatoes..it was great. Very easy. Oh, I also used flounder fillets because they are what I found in the grocery store for cheap. Don't hesitate to cook this, it really will surprise you.
