Piccalilli

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
Hi Everyone - Another English review - To stop the veg from going muchy I put all of the fresh cut vegetables in a colinder and then sprincle a good pinch of salt over them - pop this over a bowl and then cover with a tea towl - set this aside over night - then the day after the water should have drawn out of the veg and be int he bowl below! then quickly rince off but not too much as to rehidrate the vegetables - this process keeps the veg crunchy. But I woould not make this again. I too found it far too salty and also far too thin.

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2008
I wanted a chocolate cake for my boyfriends birthday and I chose this one. . . the story went that i split the batter into 2 and the first batch sunk in the middle but the second came out perfect! (i have no idea what i did!) Everyone loved this cake and I have given the recipe to three of my friends already! (one a chef!) The sunk cake did not go to waste... heated up with some ice cream and it was amazing! Thank you very much for this! A definite keeper! :)

Award Winning Chili Con Carne

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2007
me and my partner loved this! However next time we will be reducing the amount of heat - a little 2 spicy but such a yummy recipe! I added a tsp of ground cinnamon to bring out the flavour and also added some sived tomatoes through out as it seemed to be getting a little thick! We served it with corn bread & sour cream! A keeper! Thank you for sharing!

Mixed Grill of Sausage, Chicken and Lamb With Tandoori Flavorings

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2007
I only did the lamb from this as i needed a quick idea for my BBQ! My partner wasnt over the moon about it! He felt the spice over powered everything. I think it just needs a bit of a tweak for our tastes.

This was my first taste of meat loaf and i loved it... being based in the UK i've not really come across it so me and my boyfriend made it last night and it was amazing!! The only thing i changed was i halved the milk and also halved the sugar. also i put the sugar and tomato sauce on top not in the bottom of the pan! Will be making this again soon!!

Adobo Chicken with Ginger

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2007
The thought of it was good but the end result not so good. Far too much vinegar flavour for us. The only thing me and my boyfriend ate was the rice! Normally we love food like this but this recipe was just not for us!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2007
Me and my boyfriend both love this recipe! However, last time i just made a quick white sauce and layered it that way as opposed to the cheese! Not because I didn't like it but because i didn't have time to go to the supermarket!! A winner!!!

Best Carrot Cake Ever

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2007
I just have to say I initially signed up to review this recipe! It really is the best carrot cake ever! I made this cake on a Sunday afternoon and it was gone by Tuesday morning! Everyone loved it!! The only things i did differently was i strained the carrots before putting it with the brown sugar also i strained all the juice from the pineapple reserving about 3 tbs for the cake mix! I also hydrated the raisins in warm water for about 45mins. I made a lemon cream cheese for the middle and topping and decorated with chopped walnuts and bits of lemon zest! Yummy!
