After-Thanksgiving Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2007
I made this exactly as the recipe was described and it was delicious! It is not too thick at all, but rather light for a creamy soup and a past reviewer must not have added enough broth. I did add extra salt for my taste.

Candied Yams

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
I made this for Thanksgiving today and it was oh so good! I sprinkled some pecan pieces into half of the pan before baking and it was so good I wanted to eat it for desert!!

Easy Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
I made this for Thanksgiving today and it was delicious and easy! I wish I had read the reviews first because I used the full 1 cup of water and it was too much. I used a pound cake mix because that is what I had but it looks like, according to my experience and the reviews, just about any cake mix can be used successfully. Definetly worth making - give it a try!

Southern Grilled Barbecued Ribs

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
OMG! (Oh my gosh!) No wonder this recipe has a 5 star overall rating! I didn't have all of the ingredients, or even a BBQ for that matter, but the reviews sounded so good, I made it anyway. Had to use balsamic vinegar and water instead of the red wine vinegar but baked the ribs as described otherwise. I also didn't have the sauce ingredients so used a favorite bottled brand. And, last but not least, I donn't have a BBQ so put the sauced ribs bake into the oven for 30 more minutes. But the thing is, it's all about baking the ribs with the vinegar/water combo! It makes them so tender, but yet toothsome, and you can do anything you want after that. They are fabulous!

Garlic Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2007
This is a FABUOLOUS recipe - a true 5! I was tempted to add back in the mayonaiise to the dipping suace she mentioned, but was glad I didn't. I broiled mine since I didn't have access to a BBQ but can only imagine how even how better it would have been had I grilled it. Delicious, tender and quick to cook once you have all of the prep work done - a perfect, make ahead party entree!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2007
This is a fun alternative to a standard meatloaf. Next time I will put the ketchup/brown sugar mixture on the top because fat accumulated in the bottom of the pan diluting it.

Easy A La King Biscuit Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2007
I made this just as it was written except I used leftover cooked chicken, because that was what I had. The sauce was a nice consistency (maybe because my chicken was precooked?) and it made a vey good chicken pot pie sauce. Next time I will try Bisquick mix biscuits because I'm not a big fan of the refridgerated bicuits and because I think they would cook in the sauce better than the large puffy biscuits.

Supreme Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2007
This is a great recipe! I made it exactly as written but used 1/2 the chicken because I like a lot of sauce, which was nice and creamy with a yummy little tang to it from the lemon. The chicken was just a little bit dry and next time I will try skipping the simmering and just go straight to baking.
