Golden Yam Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2012
I gave it 4 out of 5 stars only because I made some changes. I followed most of the other reviewers and cut the sugar down. I used 2/3 cup white sugar and 3/4 cup brpwn sugar. I added a good heaping teaspoon of cinnamon and then substituted orange juice for the milk in the glaze. They turned out delicious. I really wouldn't call them brownies, it seems more of a sheet cake style cake to me but I will definitely be making them again, they were a hit with the whole family.

Bread Machine Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2011
This dough turned out great. I added garlic powder and dried oregano and it was delicious as both pizza dough and bread sticks.

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2011
My husband and I have made this recipe several times now and it always comes out great. We sprinkle the bread with kosher salt after we brush it with the egg wash and the crust comes out cripsy and salty, delish! My only complaint would be that it doesn't hold very well, after two days the texture really suffers, so use it the day you make it, then use leftovers for french toast or bread crumbs.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
This is a great, basic pancake recipe. I have made it twice now and my family has loved it. The second time I put a little nutmeg and some vanilla extract into the batter and it made it even better. This is our go-to recipe now.

Garlic Lover's Pizza Crust for the Bread Machine

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
It turned out okay but was more of a thin crust and we were looking for a thicker, chewier crust. If you like thin crust pizza then try this recipe.

Cowboy Cookies III

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2010
I baked these today. I followed the recipe except I added almond extract instead of vanilla and stirred in dried cherries and almonds with the chocolate chips. They spread on me a bit but came out very delicous. I will defintely make these again.

great bread. I used A.P. Flour and added some gluten, then added flax seed along with the oatmeal. It turned out great.

Joey's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2010
not too bad a recipe, i found the dough a little too sticky for rolling by hand. It is not quite the moist chewy peanut butter cookie I was looking for, but over all not bad. The batch of cookies certainly won't go to waste.

Four Egg Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2010
This cake turned out great! I substituted butter for the shortening and used cake flour instead of all-purpose. I sifted the flour and creamed the butter and sugar for six minutes, until it was very light. THe batter turned out very pale yellow and frothy and the cake baked up beautifully for my husband's birthday. I will definitely be using this one again.

Indian Saag

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2010
This saag turned out great. Saag paneer is my favorite dish in Indian restaurants, and this version didn't dissapoint. I used swiss chard that I had in my freezer from my garden this past summer, and some spinach. I made homemade paneer and I also stirred in some plain yogurt at the end for a creamier texture. It was great!

Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2010
The dogs love these, they even wanted to eat the dough before it was cooked. Like several other commenters said, I will reduce the cooking time next time I make these, otherwise they were awesome.

Irish Soda Bread in a Skillet

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2010
I made this for St. Patricks day at work, it came out great. The only thing I found was that the milk didn't want to curdle at first, so I heated it on the stove for a few minutes and that did the trick. Not sure if it would have come out as good with uncurdled milk?

Doggie Treats I

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2010
Not too bad, the dogs definately like them. I found the dough way too crumbly to roll and ended up adding an egg to get it to hold together enough to roll. A short stint in the fridge also helped with this.

Very good, very moist muffins. I got a craving for banana muffins and made these this afternoon, they were very easy to make and turned out great. I will definately be making these again.

Spent Grain Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2010
Great bread recipe, one of my favorite bread machine recipes I've found so far. My husband recently got into brewing beer at home and this uses up some of the leftover grain perfectly. Also, I hadn't tried using vital wheat gluten in my bread machine recipes yet and it really helped the texture and crumb. Thanks for the great recipe.
