Hungarian Lecso

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
Should it still hurt me after all these years that there is that one unkind review that slams the authenticity of my grandmother's recipe? It shouldn't, but it does. I am glad that so many people enjoy it, though. And for the record, I visited my Hungarian Jewish cousins (direct from Budapest) a few months ago and they do almost the same recipe except for the potatoes. :) And yes, that's my submission. I have a new account now that I'm married. :)

Very good recipe that was easy to make. I made it for our end of the summer family picnic and it was a big hit!

Easy Red Velvet Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
My husband's favorite cake is red velvet, so I decided to make one for his birthday--New Year's Eve. It turned out great and was nice and moist. I'd definitely do this cake again. Thanks!

Aaahh! Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2007
My husband and I enjoyed this soup very much. I used chicken stock for the entire liquid base as suggested by another reviewer and put dried, diced onions in the soup as well as some shredded cheese with the heavy cream. Very tasty!

Mom Sykes' Hungarian Goulash

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
This was a fabulous and very easy recipe to follow. My husband is an extremely finicky eater and he ate EVERY bite of this meal. I'll use this one over and over again. Thanks!

Coconut Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2007
I really liked this recipe, but adding that much coconut was a little too much. It settled to the bottom, so some people really got a large mouth full of coconut. (Not that that's a bad thing--I love coconut!) Next time I make this ice cream, I'll either reduce the amount of coconut or remove it completely and add it as sprinkles to enhance the great flavor. GREAT RECIPE! Thank you!
