Delicious! Everyone loved it, and it's easier to make than it appears.

Fig and Olive Tapenade

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2008
Delicious! I made this for a cocktail party last night, and it was my favorite recipe of the evening. It would be even nicer paired with something a little more elegant than cream cheese, but the tapenade itself is fantastic.

Rum or Bourbon Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2010
Gluten Free Version - This year, I'm making a GF version using half GF animal crackers and half GF graham crackers instead of the vanilla wafers. They haven't "cured" for the five days yet, but the early taste tests went well. :) I've made these now both with rum and bourbon. Although both are good, the bourbon is better, IMO.

I bumped up the cumin and cayenne a bit. It can handle more flavor. Yum!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
Fantastic corn bread. I used a ratio of 2:1:1 cornmeal:all purpose flour:whole wheat flour. There was none left after the meal.

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
Delicious, easy cobbler. I had to use canned peaches, because the fresh peaches at the grocery store weren't ripe enough. I used two cans of sliced peaches in juice, but probably should have used three. Not quite enough fruit. Still got raves, however.

Apple Peanut Spinach Salad

The dressing was especially delicious. The curry powder and chutney gave it a distinctive flavor. Will definitely use this one again.

Brunch on the Bayou

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
Very nice dish. I omitted the sourcream and parmesean cheese step. I didn't really think it needed it. Everybody loved the dish as it was.

Great glaze and dead simple to make. Might have been a five star recipe with better peaches.

I made this hot, and liked it very much. Didn't refrigerate the chicken or sauce after cooking it. Still delicious.

Unbeatable Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
This is a delicious pie, with a more sophisticated flavor and a little lighter than the standard pecan pie. I used 2 teaspoons (not 2 tablespoons) of butter to brown the pecans, as another reviewer suggested. I also added a tablespoon of bourbon to the maple syrup mix, and was pleased that I did.

Praline Pumpkin Pie II

Excellent pie. Could've used a bit more of the praline component to really make it shine.

Mock Mincemeat Pie

This was just OK, IMO. It didn't quite have the taste I was after. I'll keep looking for a good mincemeat pie recipe.
