Fudgy Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2007
Contrary to the other reviewers' thoughts, I found this muffin to be very moist and fudgy. I always cut baking time by a third or a quarter and start checking for doneness at that time. I don't usually have toothpicks so I found a spaghetti noodle works great...if it comes back clean after being poked int he center of the muffin, it is done. My children LOVED LOVED LOVED the muffins and they were gone that very day.

Peanut Blossoms II

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2010
I made these exactly as stated in the original recipe, except I halved the ingredients to 42 servings because I only had one bag of kisses. IF you do the same thing, remember that the step b y step instructions will be the same as if you are doing 84 servings. It will tell you to pour in 1 cup of white sugar. Don't pour in one cup, you need to pour in 1/2 cup. Also, these do not spread hardly at all, so you can put them very close together.

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2011
This frosting is GREAT! I upped the deliciousness by adding a packet of vanilla pudding to the heavy whipping cream at the start of the mixing. I also subbed 1 3/4 cup of powdered sugar instead of granulated so the consistency would be smoother. The pudding mix tightened the frosting a little too much, so I thinned it to piping consistency with some evaporated milk.

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
OMG!!! These taste EXACTLY like P.F. Chang's chicken lettuce wraps! I substituted 1 pound of ground chicken for the beef and also substituted 1/2 tsp of fresh minced ginger for the pickled kind (grocery store didn't have any). No dipping sauce is necessary because the lettuce wraps are soooooo delicious.

Lit'l Smokies® With Bacon

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2009
This is FANTASTIC. The last time I made these, I wrapped the sausages in bacon and covered them with the brown sugar eary in the morning the day I was serving them. I covered them in foil and put them in the fridge so that I could pull them out and bake them later that evening.

Easy Cheese Ball II

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
The people complaining of the cheese ball being too salty probably did one of two things.....bought the dip mix instead of the DRESSING mix or used less han 16 oz of cream cheese. I just made it accorsing to instructions (plus added green onions) and it is perfect. There is no way that you can say this cheese ball is salty if you followed the recipe.

Salmon Patties I

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2008
I think these salmon patties would have been better if the directions said to saute the onions first. The cakes fried up well, turned golden brown, BUT....there were lots of little bits of raw uncooked crunchy onion pieces throughout the interior of the patties. I also think that I should have added some salt and pepper to them because the flavor was lacking (and I even used seasoned breadcrumbs). All in all, these do not taste as fantastic as I had anticipated--the reviews made them seem wonderful.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
I tried this recipe because it was obviously a favorite among cooks here on allrecipes. However, upon reading reviews I noticed that many people suggested improvements such as adding more sugar and vanilla because it wa skind of bland. Well I did that and liked hte sweetness. BUT the butter flavor was just way too heavy. Coming from a butter lover like myself, that is strange. Other than the overpowering butter taste, I liked th eway they retained their shape after being baked. All in all, don't be fooled by the enormous number of raters....this one is not that fantastic. Sorry.

Chicken and Dumplings I

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
Instead of a whole chicken (we don't like dark meat) I use 2 bone-in chicken breasts. I also add 4 chicken bouillon cubes while the chicken cooks. Itop the finished product off with a can of cream of chicken soup before serving. It makes the dumplings SOOOOO creamy.

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
If you use 8o% lean ground beef, you can mix uncooked rice with the meat and it will plump up while cooking. I also add a can of diced tomatos to the tomato soup to dilute it a bit. These will be the best cabbage rolls you will ever eat! They are delicious with mashed potatos.

Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Buns

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2007
These were the BEST cinnamon rolls I have ever made. Normally, my cinnamon rolls taste too "yeasty" but these were perfecty buttery and sweet. I followed the recipe except I did not have any nuts to add and they were still great. Last night, I shaped them into rolls and just left them (covered in wax paper) on my kitchen counter to rise until this morning (about 8 hours). They had risen perfectly. Use the thread cutting advice from another reviewer. It works like a charm!

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2007
Very delicious! I used the bones of this recipe to make my own version: substituted extra can of chicken broth for water and cabbage for spinach, added can of navy beans, diced potatos, and one chopped tomato. Also added 1/2 cup parmesan/romano to the pot. Didn't have fresh herbs so I used 1 tsp Italian seasoning.

Taco Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2010
This recipe was great! I subbed a squirt of Italian dressing because I didn't have catalina. Resist the urge to dump in two packets of taco seasoning...I did and it overpowered a bit. If I had followed the recipe and only used one, it would have been even better. Thanks for the easy and delicious recipe!

Sugar Cookie Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
This is the BEST frosting recipe I have ever tried. The only substitution is that I used butter instead of shortening. It was very firm, dried quickly, and tasted fantastic! Thanks for putting this one on the site! It has become my new favorite butter cream frosting!

Beef Tips and Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2008
This is the BEST recipe ever for been and noodles. It is really important to use sirloin tips like the recipe states. Don't try to substitute the cheaper "stew meat" in the meat case at the grocery store. i have used it before and it turned out tough and gross. The sirloin is tender and wonderful. Also, I covered mine with foil and cooked it for 1 1/2 hours. My four year old son said that the dish was fantastic!

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2012
Followed the recipe as written *except I only had 6 chicken breast halves. I also didn't put the sour cream in until it was ladled in bowls. I just put a dollop on top. Man, was this soup delicious!!!! We sprinkled a few chipotle cheddar tortilla strips (found in salad dressing aisle) on top and enjoyed this soup!
