I'm a country girl from a very small town in Missouri. I moved to Springfield 3 years ago and I love it here! I've been cooking since I was a young teenager and I'm continually improving and looking to try new recipes.
My favorite things to cook
My favorites include Venison Parmesan, Grilled Teriyaki Skewers, Oven Roasted Potatoes, Tortilla Pizzas, Grilled Veggies, Stir Fry, Fried Pickles...and my quest for the perfect biscuit recipe keeps me busy cooking biscuits!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Fish Frys!!! We get together to go fishing, then we cook our catch. It's a full day of fun...whether it's crappie, perch or trout - we love this tradition.
My cooking triumphs
I had always wanted to try lamb but have been afraid to attempt cooking it. After spending hours of researching recipes, I finally gave it a whirl. It turned out PERFECT! Which was a good thing b/c I cooked it for my date during a candlelight dinner for two!
My cooking tragedies
Tuna-Potato Patties...YUCK! The recipe sounded great - but they were horrible. I had to throw out all of them.

Jalapeno Hot Sauce
Great sauce! I reduced vinegar to 1/2 cup based on other reviews but then tasted it, and added about 1/4 cup more. Perfect. May have been ok with the full cup, but I stopped at 3/4 cup. Can't wait to make taco's and try this out!

Cajun Seafood Pasta
Excellent! I used mozzarella cheese instead of swiss, and added green peppers & mushrooms as other reviews suggested. I also added some cayenne pepper - about 1/2 tsp and I didn't think it was too spicy. Overall, I loved the flavor and I would certainly make this again!

Zucchini Herb Casserole
Very tasty! I doubled the herbs and reduced the cheese as other members suggested. Plus, I used an Italian cheese blend and topped it with Parmesan cheese. It was really good!
