Coconut Macaroons III

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2014
I followed the recipe exactly as written, except that I halved it as it was for my fiance and myself. These came out perfectly. They were super easy to make and came out of the oven beautifully golden brown and delicious.

Cheesy Potato and Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2014
This was delicious! I made this for my fiance, who informed me that he'd never had corn chowder before. I wanted a recipe that would satisfy both of us and this looked like a winner. I was not disappointed! I followed the recipe as written but made one small change - I made my own country gravy as I do not like the mix. Great recipe. Came together easily, excellent taste and consistency. Couldn't ask for more!

Colonial Hot Buttered Rum

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2011
This was easy to make and it came out very well, except it was notably quite salty, much saltier than I'm used to hot buttered rum being. I think next time I'd leave out the extra salt or try unsalted butter.

White Bread For The Bread Machine

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2011
This was my first recipe using a bread machine! I got a bread machine second hand and wanted to try something that seemed nice and easy. This recipe fit the bill flawlessly. I did add a bit more salt, as per other reviews, and it turned out awesome. It's good enough to eat plain and my boyfriend and I really enjoyed it. I'll definitely be making this again.

Slow Cooker Moscow Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2011
This was easy to prepare and was very very good. My boyfriend absolutely loved it. We couldn't find Russian dressing at the local grocery store (seriously, it was ridiculous!) so I had to make it from scratch. Sadly, the dressing separated during cooking and didn't look too appetizing in the crock but it still tasted amazing. Next time (and there will certainly be a next time, we loved this) I'll definitely make sure to use bottled dressing as that should help remedy the separation problem and make this even better. Also, I did microwave the bacon for a short time before wrapping the chicken. I'm not sure it was necessary but it turned out very nicely.

Zucchini Bread IV

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2011
This was very good, exactly what I was looking for! I followed the recipe as it was written, except I added chocolate chips at the request of my boyfriend. It was excellent. We couldn't possibly eat two loaves ourselves so the extra was served to visiting family members and they loved it as much as we did.

Simple White Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2011
This was very easy to make and came out wonderfully. I was looking for a nice simple recipe and this really delivered. I'd definitely use this one again. I followed it word for word, except I used almond extract because we'd just run out of vanilla and I hadn't noticed. Still came out very tasty.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2011
I made these for my boyfriend as a late night snack and they turned out very well, pretty much exactly like you'd except them to. We didn't change a thing, aside from only making 4 servings. We'd definitely make these again.

French Toast Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2011
Fantastic recipe as it is written. Of course some reviewers are going to add to it, I mean that's basic cooking skills (honestly, if you didn't have the sense to change it to your own tastes I'd say you have no business cooking). Comes out wonderfully, nice texture and consistency. I'm not a huge fan of traditional French Toast but baking it makes it lovely!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2007
My dough was very runny and sticky. I followed the recipe word for word, and I am quite a good baker, at least my friends tell me so. I am not sure what went wrong with these, but I'm not going to be making another batch to see. The cookies themselves came out paper thin and hard, and had a much too sugary taste to them. Overly sweet, and very bland. I was very disappointed. I had been making these for friends who were visiting and well.... Needless to say, we didn't get cookies that night. I won't use this recipe again.
