I love being an Allrecipes Allstar. It gives me the opportunity to discover new recipes and try amazing new products. This month’s product was Mazola oil. If you are a cook, then there is a great possibility that you have used or at least heard of Mazola before. So technically this might not… MORE

I love being a part of the Allrecipes Allstars program, but it isn't so much just for the joy of cooking (although that does play a part in it), it is also for experiencing new products or discovering old forgotten products. This month we are cooking with Johnsonville sausage products again,… MORE
Johnsonville chili, our dinner tonight. Yum! We made this in the crockpot for extra ease.

Recently I was asked by my daughter to make one of her favorite family dishes—Greek bread—and then it occurred to me that my family is getting older. Time is passing me by. As I stood in the kitchen mixing my ingredients, I stood watching my 8 month old playing with his toys on his high chair… MORE

I love this time of year. I had a wonderful Christmas, and I hope that everyone else had a great Christmas or holiday as well.  I love baking cookies during the month of December to give a gifts and to share with family and friends. So needless to say I was once again excited to see that our… MORE

Boy do I love this time of year! I can almost sense the good spirit in the air. After surviving Halloween, it was now time to enjoy my Thanksgiving with my family back home in Louisiana.  So what did we make for Thanksgiving this year (or more like what did I make seeing how my dad is not at… MORE

I love okra. LOVE it. I don't know how else to make my point without using caps on that. I grew up on my Maw Maw's shrimp okra gumbo, fried okra, boiled okra, and basically anything okra. I also grew up on good ole Cajun cooking, which cannot be very healthy. So when as part of the Allrecipe… MORE

A little background on me; I am Cajun, and I spent most of my life growing up in southern Louisiana. I love my heritage, the food, and most of all my family, especially my grandmother. My grandmother was an excellent cook with multiple church cookbooks under her belt. That woman was… MORE

I am a fan of Allrecipes, and let me tell you why. Years ago when I first discovered looking up recipes online, I found many websites with great recipes. Every time I would google a recipe, Allrecipes would always come up as one of the most used. After time I could see why. Their website was… MORE

I love butter. What can I say, I am from the south. I grew up eating butter on everything, and there was even a time when my Maw Maw (my grandmother) would simply make us butter sandwiches for snacks. So it came to no surprise for me that I loved that Allrecipes was getting together with Go… MORE

About Me
I am from deep south Louisiana and I am Cajun. Growing up in a huge family that loves to cook I have been helping in the kitchen since a toddler. I love cooking and have traveled around to get new recipes. I even lived in Mexico for 2 years and picked up authentic Mexican recipes. I love baking and southern dishes. I excel in homemade pies and southern classics. I am always trying new recipes and something new. My motto is you should always try something twice because nothing ever tastes exactly the same.
My favorite things to cook
I love and I mean LOVE pies. I have a few people addicted to my Lemon Meringue and No bake cherry cheesecake pies. I am constently baking and making desert. I also love to cook southern dishes and simple, easy and tasty things for my kids.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Sunday after church my family would get together at my grandmothers house and cook a huge southern supper. Now with my grandmother too old and ill to cook and myself moved away, I love to cook almost every night for my family.
My cooking triumphs
It took me a couple of times to get my lemon meringue pie perfect.... but it was so worth it.
My cooking tragedies
I cannot eat something unless it is seasoned perfectly and I gave my mom a recipe and she under seasoned it. I felt I mislead her. Lol.
