For a quick dinner this is a good recipe. It was flavorful and easily adaptable to put whatever you like in it.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2011
I made this for dessert at a BBQ we had. Everyone loved it. The Cinnamon Chips were great & this whole dish was easy to prepare. I used Strawberries, Raspberries, Gala Apple and a Red Pear. I used a Mixed Berry jam and the results were great!! I cut the fruit into small squares so it would be easy to scoop with the chips. There is no need for measurements really I could make this and adjust it to the quantity I want and tailor the fruit to our likes or dislikes. I will be making this for a long time and will be my go to in a pinch.

Bubba's Jambalaya

Reviewed: May 8, 2011
This was a great and flavorful recipe. I didn't follow exact. I made my own Creole Spice, I used Kielbassa, Italian Sausage, & Shrimp cause that is all I had on hand. Next time I will use the Bacon, Smoked Sausage and Chicken with the Shrimp. I let the Sauce simmer for almost 6hrs. I started it at 12 and finished with the rice & shrimp @ 6pm. I tasted the sauce before adding the rice and it needed just a smidge more salt. Everyone loved it and I will definitely make it again.

Teriyaki Sauce

Reviewed: May 1, 2011
Quick, Easy and Tasty. I used Madeira wine because I didn't have any Sherry. I made this for Slow Cooker Pork Tenderloin from this site. Everyone loved the sauce that I made with this teriyaki. I know some people that simmer their sauce on the stove top for a bit. I may try this next time and see how it works out as a dipping sauce.

Slow Cooker Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: May 1, 2011
I cooked the pork on low and it was done a little after 2hr, this is not something I would do If I was going off to work. I didn't want tenderloin that fell apart so when I put the thermometer in and it came to temp I just set the slow cooker to warm. I will also try this with a pork loin. The sauce is the star of the recipe! I just used the liquid form in the slow cooker but next time I will try straining and thickening it. It was a tasty dish, I find it difficult finding good slow cooker dishes that are not a muddle of flavors or grey in colour..lol. I will make again.

Tartar Sauce II

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2011
I was making Beer Battered Haddock when I noticed we didn't have any tartar sauce. I came across this recipe and it was GREAT!!! My family loved it and it was so easy and quick to come together. I was in a rush so I didn't add the hard boiled egg, so I don't know if it would make a difference but I know it was very good and refreshing without it. I don't think I will ever buy a jarred tartar sauce again!

Sean's Falafel and Cucumber Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2011
I'm giving it 4 stars because I only made the falafels. I baked them in the oven @ 400 for 10 min and flipped them once, they didn't need to be broiled but I would if need be. I used tzaziki sauce instead of making the sauce with the recipe. The falafels were good and really easy.

Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2011
Pretty yummy. I did make some changes. I seasoned the filling as the recipe states except I added red chili flakes, I also used canned tomatoes instead of canned sauce and blended it. As for the sauce over the peppers again I blended some canned tomatoes and added basil, oregano, red chili flakes, onion & garlic, salt and pepper and just let it simmer a bit. It was pretty flavourful and I served it with a salad.

Italian Bread Using a Bread Machine

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2011
The bread is good. Many people are complaining that it is not what you find in a bakery, well you are not baking in a bakery you are in your kitchen using a bread maker. I put a pan of boiling water on the bottom rack and baked each loaf separate ( I don't know if that made any difference in the crust ) & the crust came out very nice. So for a quick recipe for sandwich bread (which is what I used it for) it is fine. One loaf I dusted with rosemary and garlic it was good. I will make again when I need a quick loaf for a stew or garlic bread or sandwiches etc.

Carrot Cupcakes with White Chocolate Cream Cheese Icing

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
I liked the recipe. It was yummy but I have made better carrot cakes and the icing gave me some difficulty with melting the white chocolate. But they were yummy and will get eaten up I'm sure.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

The sauce was great! I did add 1/4tsp of garlic powder and 3/4 tsp of paprika. It was really easy, I will make this sauce with other fish fillets.

Roast Pork with Maple and Mustard Glaze

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2010
The glaze is excellent. I used it on pork chops instead of a roast. I reduced the glaze a bit on the stove, broiled the chops then glazed them and broiled a few minutes more.

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2010
Not that great. I followed the recipe exactly but I prefer my regular pancake recipe via Nigella Lawson. These were way too heavy and somewhat cakey. They were fluffy and I didn't taste vinegar as others have stated but they were not light and fluffy like I was hoping. I would say they are BLAND and as someone else stated tasted like raw flour. I will go back to my tried and true recipe. UPDATE: I made these again and they were better the second time around. I added some Vanilla Extract which made them taste better and after adding the vinegar to the milk I topped it up to 1C. There was just enough for 3 adults. I do still prefer my Nigella pancakes, its a batch of dry ingredients that will last for at least 3-4 breakfasts. So when I'm out and need a quick fix I will settle on this recipe.

Chocolate-Chocolate Chip Bacon Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2010
Great cookies! Soft on the inside just the way I like it. My fiance loved them and was surprised at the "secret" ingredient. It is not an overpowering bacon flavor, but the whole point is to compliment. You take a bite and wonder what is that?...they are yummy.

Mango Blueberry Muffins With Coconut Streusel

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2010
These are good but not amazing. Although I did deviate from the recipe a bit. I didn't have blueberries so i used pineapple. I figured it would go well with the mango and coconut. I also added a little bit more mango than asked. The thing I made a mistake on is cutting back on the sugar to 3/4C as some had stated because I don't like things too sweet. Next time I will use 1C and use the blueberries and maybe mash some of the mango into the matter along with cut up pieces.

Bacon and Cheddar Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
Good. My hubby liked them. I did use 3 cheeses (parm, cheddar and mozzarella), everything else was the same. I am absolutely in love with cheese but I felt I need to add something else to brighten up the flavors. When I find what that is I could give this 5 stars....but then it wouldn't be the same recipe hehe.

Pecan Squares Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2010
Tastes like Pecan Pie, only you can hold it in your hand. I cut back the recipe to 18 servings and cut back the corn syrup to 3/4C because of what others said in other reviews. I don't like things too sweet and some reviews said it was too sweet so I cut back the sugar to 1/2C instead of 1C, but I could go with 3/4C. In the end I drizzled them with a little melted chocolate. Super yummy!
