Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2012
Very yummy and good. I added additional garlic and some strips of eggplant. This is a winner.

Easy Strawberry Lemonade

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2012
Good lemonade with a twist of strawberry taste. We love this, but when we make it we make some adjustments - I make the lemonade from fresh lemons (using the Old Fashion Lemonade recipe on this site). I then add strawberry syrup (found in the baking, breakfast or ice cream aisle in the grocery store - ice cream syrup, hershey's syrup, or strawberry pancake syrup will even do the trick) and then I add sliced fresh strawberries. This is a winner and everyone will love this on a hot summer day. YUMMY!!

Refreshing Lemonade

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2012
This is good..but we are not Splenda fans. The sugar substitutes we like are Sweet 'n Low and Equal. Other than changing the sugar substitute we like this recipe.

Old-Fashioned Lemonade

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2012
Very good...but I do recommend boiling the water and sugar together so it blends and sweetens more and it dissolves the sugar better. This makes for some good lemonade.

Best Lemonade Ever

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2012
This is the only way I make lemonade and it is so good! I agree with others the trick to get the juice out of the lemons is to microwave them for a bit or soak them in hot water or roll them for awhile to get them soft. I also used artificial sweetener instead of sugar. This is good refreshing lemonade if you just put it on ice.

Onion Pan-Fried Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2011
Very good recipe. I would give it 5 stars but I did modify it just a bit. Instead of frying the porkchops I baked them in a foil covered pan. I rubbed some oil at the bottom of my pan so the porkchops wouldn't stick. I also added some garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper to the chops before flouring them and added a bit of season bread crumbs to the flour mixture. Finally during the last 5 minutes I put some french onion potato chip dip on the chops and added some half and half to create a bit of a gravy.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2011
All I can say is this is a great recipe for 'GOOD & MOIST'cookies. You must take the cookies out in 10 minutes and not a minute longer. THey will be brown on the bottom and soft and gooey like on top, but once they rest they are awesome. It will look like you are taking out undone cookies, but don't fear, because they are still cooking on the hot cookie pan once you take them out. I just love this recipe.

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2011
Easy and Good! The flavors remind me of some of my favorite thai restaurant salads. It is refreshing with a bold asian flavor and the toasted sesames enhance the taste. This is a keeper in every since of the word and a true crowd pleasure - not to mention it is easy to make. You must use light soy sauce or it will come out too salty and you can substitute the rice vinegar for white vinegar or balsamic. It will still taste good.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2011
These were just okay. Not sure why my family didn't love this given the rave reviews, but I just thought the sauce made the chops a big soggy and the cooking time was too long.

Campbell's Kitchen French Onion Burgers

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2011
What an unbelievably moist and flavorful burger. The can of french onion soup is really what sets this otherwise plain burger apart. The soup adds just the right hint of onion and salt...and I must say the onion is more of a smothered onion taste so it is not overpowerering for folks who don't like onions. I added a bit of garlic powder and smoked paprika to the ground beef mix and for a few of the burgers added a packet of onion soup dry mix as suggested by other reviewers. We love onions so adding the dry mix was preferred by our household, but if you are not an onion person go without. Finally, we didn't want to brave the cold and grill so I fried the burgers just a minute or two in the pan to brown, took them out of the pan, mixed the soup in the hot pan to get up the pan drippings (after skimming off all the oil of course) and then put the soup and the burgers in a pan in the oven to bake for 10 minutes. Yummy! Topped these off with the carmelized onions they were awesome. This is a definite keeper.

Margarita Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
Yummy Yum and very easy to make. These shrimp had a nice refreshing lime tast and the addition of the red pepper and garlic and lemon pepper (something I added) added a nice zest. They were really good. I also used whiskey instead of tequila (because we didn't have tequila on hand) and it was oh so good. This is definitely a keeper for a quick snack or a party.

Beefaroni

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
Yummy Yum Yum.. The only suggestions I would add to enhance the flavor is sauted green peppers, onions, and garlic. I would also add mozarella and parmesan cheese when baking. For ease you could also add a jar of your favorite pasta sauce instead of the tomato sauce.

Beef 'n' Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
This is okay for a quick meal on a busy night. We like it okay. A faster way to make this meal is use Cheeseburger Mac Hamburger Helper and add a jar of spaghetti sauce. To add more flavor add sauted onions and garlic to the ground beef when browning.

Elbows and Ground Beef

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
This is easy and good. I've made it exactly as the recipe calls and I've also modified the recipe and added some garlic to the sauce..then mixed the sauce and noodles with shredded parmesan and mozarella in a baking dish and baked the whole thing. This was far better...probably less healthy with all the cheese (LOL) but yummy!

Homemade Hash Browns

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2011
Yummy Yum Yum Yum! We just love these breakfast potatoes and have been making them for years. The only thing different we do is dice the potatoes in medium size pieces instead of shredding them and add a tspn of soy sauce in the pot. Though not as healthy as using the Dutch Oven method, we sometimes just pop it all in a pan and fry them on med-hi. I just love this in the morning with bacon.

Split Pea and Ham Soup I

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
Yummy Yum Yum..I even got my 'we don't like pea soup' family to eat this and they loved it. I must say due to time constraints I used canned peas and put them in a food processor (2 cans) w/ 1/2 cup of half and half. I fried some bacon and sauted some veggies (shredded carrots, celery, minced garlic, marjoram, and onions) and chopped ham in the bacon grease. Instead of water I added 1.5 cups of chicken broth and mixed all the ingredients together and let it simmer on low for about 30 minutes. I also added diced smoked sausage. I served with shredded mozarrella on top and crumbled bacon. We loved this.

Over the Top Nachos

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
This is restaurant quality for sure!!! My family loved these nachos, but we did add a bit of a twist to it. I sauted some pork in chili powder, cayenne pepper, and a touch of salt, taco seasoning and shredded it to add on top (Note: I also made ground beef seasoned it the same way, so we had a couple of choices for meat - smile). For the cheese I used both shredded cheese and a cheese sauce. For the sauce, I melted a 1/3 of a block of processed cheese (like Velveeta) with milk and a can of diced tomatoes with jalopeno peppers. I followed the recipe to the T- otherwise. I browned the chips in the oven for a few minutes, then added the refried beans and cheese sauce and put back in the oven for abt 3 minutes, then added the meat and shredded cheese and let it all melt for about 3-5 more minutes. Then I added diced tomatoes, diced red onions, sour cream, and black olives on top. THis was awesome and filling!!!! No one could even think of leftovers - LOL.

Ground Beef Enchiladas

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2011
Very very good indeed. A definite keeper. I didn't know what to think about the cream of chicken soup, but followed the recipe to a T and it came out great. Definitely restaurant style and flavors blend well and are not overpowering. Yum

Sirloin Steak Dianne

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
I don't know where I went wrong with this recipe, but it just didn't work for us as a family. I followed the recipe to a tee, but the mix of the wine and cream didn't work and we didn't like the taste. Perhaps it was the wine I used. It was a cabernet, which may have been too strong.
