Pile of Prawns

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2015
Very good. I did everything like the recipe calls for, except instead of sauteing them I broiled the shrimp. Served on top of hot Parmesan pasta.

Garlic Shrimp Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2015
Good stuff, but I made some cooking modifications so I didn't rate it higher. I sauted the garlic with some lemon juice and diced green onions and added the peeled butterflied raw shrimp to the pan to allow the shrimp to seer. I also added a dash of cajun seasoning. Served on top of hot pasta and sprinkled Parmesan cheese on top.

Quick Brussels and Bacon

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2015
Easy to prepare and good. My 'other half' immediately said, "You know I don't eat brussel sprouts" and then I told him to try these and he then said "Give me some more...what did you do to them" LOL. So that says it all. These are a keeper. Even my daughter loved them, another person who sweared she didn't like brussel sprouts. I did modify the recipe a bit. I didn't have shallots, so used minced garlic instead. After cooking the brussel sprouts with the bacon I sprinkled feta cheese on top and baked for about 10 more minutes. Yum.

Glazed Meatloaf I

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2015
This was very tasty. A nice sweet meatloaf with a touch of tang. Even my daughter who hates meatloaf enjoyed this. I did add some finely chopped celery and green peppers to my meatloaf mix and made a brown gravy to go on top. Yum

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2015
Good stuff. Came our nice and creamy. It also helped me get rid of those chunks that are so often in homemade mashed potatoes and that my family hates. Once the potatoes cooked down in the slow cooker (crock pot) I could mash those chunks down.

Diabetic Dog Treats

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2015
The smell was not all that bad to us. Just smelled like cooked liver...but instead of the whole wheat flour which was terribly expensive, our vet said we could use oatmeal and flax seed, which was cheaper, so perhaps this is why the small wasn't as bad (I don't think it would matter, but who knows). The bottom line is our dog, the one with diabetes and the other one both loved them!!!

Amazing Garlic Chicken Livers

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2015
Really good and really easy. I followed the suggestion of another reviewer and cooked the livers with the garlic, so that the garlic would accent the flavor and wouldn't be so strong. I also added a bit of green onions. What a nice and refreshing way to have livers...Yum.

Creamy White Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2014
Really good. I made mine in a crockpot. Sauted the onions, green chiles, and garlic in hot oil then added to crock pot with chicken. Allowed chicken to cook and shredded it after about 4 hours. Added beans, chicken broth and dry seasonings/herbs. Cooked for a couple hours more on low for 2 hours and then added cream. Instead of whipping cream I added mexican crema. This is definitely a keeper. Yum. Topped it off with chili powder and shredded cheese to serve.

Gouda and Spinach Stuffed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2014
Not bad. I didn't have gouda cheese, so I used pepperjack. The flavor was good, but a bit salty. Will have to try again with Gouda cheese. I will say the chops were very tender.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2014
Really good and easy to make. I agree with reviewers leave the salt out. It made my pot too salty. Will make again w/o it. I did add shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and green onions to finished bowls. Yum. A good winter soup keeper.

Colorful Beverage

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2014
The flavors and taste just didn't pop for me. It wasn't bad, it was just okay. I will say it is easy to make with common ingredients. It is good non-alcoholic or alcoholic. Coconut rum in particular is a good add-in.

Chicken Tequila Fettuccini

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2014
Really good. Thanks to all for the great ideas for improving this recipe. I don't like the taste of boiled chicken, so similar to others I added grilled chicken and then sauted it with the red/orange peppers. I also added yellow peppers and extra jalapenos, cilantro, and tequila. This was unique but very good. The taste are a bit of tex-mex, but creamy and full of flavor. I added fresh parmesan cheese on one of my servings and that made it even better. This is a keeper. Yum!
