Easy Liver Pate

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2012
Just made this for a family weekend. It was a hit! Even people who don't like liver sausage treid it and had more! We have some left over so I'm going to use it as sandwich spread for our lunches this week! Yummy!

Bacon Cabbage Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2011
I've made this numerous times in the last few months. First time as written, I'd have given it 4 stars, pretty darn good! Since then I've been making it with italian sausage instead of the bacon, minced garlic instead of powder and whatever chopped vegetables I have in the fridge. SO, SO GOOD!! I'm making it again tonight!!

The Best Meatballs

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2011
Your recipe title is correct. These are absolutely the best! I made a triple batch as written the other night & my husband was practically tearing the refrigerator apart last night looking for them! I had frozen them in meal size portions so I had to show him where they were. I fear there'll be none left when I go to make them for a meal!! Absolutely the greatest!!! Thanks!

Sausage Alfredo Pizza

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2011
I used up some of my leftovers on this pizza. I used cooked chicken instead of sausage, a little pesto, mixed in with the alfredo sauce, the leftover thawed spinach & chopped up the last few spears of asparagus and threw that on too. Yummy and healthy too! Thanks!

Cabbage Burgers

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2011
Prefece my comments with the fact that I am a picky eater. This dish looked like nothing I would've ever touched much less prepared it myself AND ate it. It was really, really good though. I used italian sausage instead of the hamburger though and added some of the vegetables & spices that other reviewers suggested. My husband and I both decided that we prefered it without the bun but it was good inside the bun too. Honestly, if you make this and look in the pan and start to wonder, eat it anyway! It's good!

Ranch Dressing II

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2011
Very, very good! Easy and using stuff you already have in the cupboard! I made my buttermilk with lemon juice too so I didn't end up with the rest sitting in the fridge.

Heather's Grilled Salmon

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2011
OH MY GOSH! This is the best marinade ever! Seriously, my husband was late coming home from work and I almost ate his salmon too! I saved the marinade and threw shrimp in for the next night and that was great too! Trying chicken tonight. Added 1/4 C lemon juice because I didn't have lemon pepper. Seriously, BEST EVER! Thanks for sharing Heather!!

Taco Salad II

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
I made this for the first time this past weekend and couldn't get enough of it! I omitted the dressing because I'm not a dressing fan & was trying to keep it as low cal as possible and I put the crushed chips in a bowl on the side because I like my chips crunchy. Oh my gosh, it was the best salad I've eaten in a long time if I do say so myself! Other taco salad eaters said it was fine without the dressing and liked the crunchy chips too! Yummy! Definately worth making!

Dutch Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
I'm not a cooked carrot fan at all but these potatoes were a good change of pace from regular mashed potatoes and good way to get those cooked carrots eaten! Couldn't hardly even taste the carrots! I'll make then again!

These burgers were pretty darn good! Husband renamed them meatloaf burgers. I also added an egg to keep them together.

Blue Cheese Beef Tenderloin

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
We didn't use the blue cheese dressing as we found it unnecessary. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth fantastic! I've baked the beef as directed and also grilled it. I've made it numerous times now and have found that this marinade works great on chicken breasts also. Only change was I seasoned with fresh ground pepper while marinading. Note: my tenderloin was not whole, it came in 1 inch thick slices from the butcher shop. Flip the slices or chicken breasts at least once during marinading. Thank you so much for the recipe! Yummy, yummy, yummy!!!

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2010
I put this in shells because that's what I had in the cupboard. Instead of using spinach, I chopped up some broccoli, carrots, & asparagus, maybe 2- 2 1/2 cups of vegetables total. Sauteed the onion, garlic & vegetables in the butter & made the sauce in there. Left out the ricotta because I didn't have any and halved the mozzarella because sauce didn't seem to need it. Used about 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese with the parmesean cheese for topping. This made 2 8x8 pans of shells, fulling probably about 30 shells. Oh my gosh, heaven in every bite!!!!

Harvest Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
As written, this recipe didn't do much for me. Then I doubled the spices, added addl 1/3 c brown sugar, 1/4 c sweet onion sauteed & pureed with one medium boiled carrot and about 1/4 c milk. Now we're cooking! I put some in the crock pot this morning to see if I can make it that good twice!

Dalton's Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
In my recipe bok these are named "baked beans for people who don't like baked beans" They're fantastic! You can add any other type of beans too to make it go a bit further or substitute also. Just make sure you drain and rinse all other types of beans except the baked beans. Never thought I'd EVER like baked beans but I was wrong!

Red Velvet Cake I

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2009
Followed the recipe with the oil, sugar & cocoa modifications. Taste overall was ok, just different than I expected. Milk & flour mixture must be boiled down to almost a pudding-like consistancy in order to work. Cool completely as the recipe says. Be patient mixing in the granulated sugar. It will work.

Bulk Venison Breakfast Sausage

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2008
I used ground mixed peppercorns instead of black peppercorns. I shaped them into bigger patties, dipped the refrigerated patties in beaten egg and rolled them in Ritz cracker crumbs before freezing. I've made pork sausage like this for a meat serving for supper. I'm planning to lightly spray the skillet with cooking spray when I fry them as the patties were still a bit lean.

Best Ever Jalapeno Poppers

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2008
Didn't read enough of the reviews to know to parboil the peppers first. Bet that would've made seeding them easier! Anyway, I didn't have as many jalapenos as I thought so we used assorted peppers of the correct size from the garden. Rave reviews on all!

Green Grape Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2008
I modifed this recipe slightly. In my recipe, I use 16 cups of bite sized fruit. I've used any combination of green & red grapes, blueberries, strawberries, red & black raspberries. Wonderful everytime and perfect to use up a little bit of this and that kind of fruit! Don't use Kiwi though, spoils the taste somehow. Perfect everytime recipe though!

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2008
This recipe is absolutely the best way to eat spinach! I mix all the ingredients except the spinach in a bowl & keep it in the fridge. Each day I put my spinach in a bowl, add the strawberry dressing & make it fresh everyday! Keeps the spinach from wilting. YUM!

We like egg salad so I doubled the boiled eggs and I had some fresh peas so I threw those in too. YUM! Very good, easy, and cool preparation for those hot days!
