Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
Extremely moist and full of flavor. The only I changed was I added freshly roasted garlic to the olive oil, which gave it great flavor. I served it with the Easy Alredo sauce from this website and it was a hit! I will definitely be making this again!

Easy Cream Cheese Danish

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2008
Wow these are good and pretty easy to make!! As everyone has said, I reduced the cream cheese to one 8oz. brick and the sugar to a 1/2 cup. I have made this a couple of ways, sometimes I add 2 tsp. of cinnamon(to taste) and omit the lemon juice. Wow! Very good! I also will do the plain cream cheese filling or add 1/4 cup of jelly/jam. Also, I do not do the top and bottom layer, but rather I place one crescent on the baking sheet, add the filling generously over it and then place another crescent on top and pinch the edges together. Perfection!

Apple Crumb Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
Hands down the best apple pie recipe! I did not add the walnuts, but it still turned out perfectly. I used roughly 4 granny smith apples. I also doubled the cinnamon and nutmeg with the apple mixture as well as doubling the crumb topping. For a couple minutes at the end I put the pie under the broiler on low to give it a nice crisp texture. Make sure to place a pan beneath the pie plate to prevent drippings from falling on the oven! I used the French Pastry Pie Crust recipe from this site and it was perfect. I made this for the Fourth of July and it was loved by everyone!

Sun-Dried Tomato Basil Orzo

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2008
This is a very good side dish, not a ton of flavor but still tasty. I made a few changes, doubled the amount of sun-dried tomatoes, increased the parmesan cheese to 1 cup, doubled the amount of olive oil...to your taste, and added 1 tsp. of garlic powder and an extra 2 cloves of garlic. Good with a chicken dish!

Taco Dip I

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
I was pleasantly surprised by this dip. I thought it would need to be warm, but it was delicious room temperature or even cold. Great flavor and very versatile, you can add or remove any of the toppings and it still tastes delicious. It is great with plain tortilla chips or nacho cheese chips as well.

Strawberry Angel Food Dessert

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
I love this recipe for so many reasons. I come from a family that will not eat a dessert unless it contains chocolate. They actually ate this and loved it!! I served it in a trifle bowl and kept all of the ingredients and proportions exactly the same. I actually made my own angel food cake, but that is just a personal preference. Great summer dessert and wonderful presentation!

Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
This is a household favorite! I did not change a single thing and they turned out great! I would suggest cooking the cookies for little bit longer if you like a crunch with the creamy filling. They are great right out of the oven as well as days later. Thank you for this great recipe...I love making these!

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
Yet another great simple weeknight dinner! I serve this with a salad and it makes a great meal. I also add 10oz. of spinach to the mixture, which I highly suggest...it is almost like adding chicken to spinach and artichoke dip, so good!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2008
These are delicious, I made them for family and everyone insisted I give them the recipe. Someone actually said they wanted to eat a huge bowl of these as their entire dinner! I made a couple of changes, I added salt and pepper to the sauce before stirring it in with the potatoes and onions. I also sauteed the onions, cut into smaller pieces, with a couple tablespoons of butter to cut down on the raw onion flavor. I would also suggest mixing the onions, potatoes, and sauce all together and definitely uncover these for the last 20 minutes. Great recipe!

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
Good and pretty easy, does take longer than 90 minutes, more like 2 hours, still, if you do not have a bread machine this is perfect. I followed the directions exactly, except I added a cream cheese frosting. The frosting is 4 oz. of cream cheese, 1/4 cup of softened butter, 2 cups of powdered sugar, 1/2 tsp. of vanilla, pinch of salt, 1-2 tablespoons of milk depending on desired consistency.

Greek Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
Very nice, light flavor. I used 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts instead of a chicken quartered. I also grated 5 cloves of garlic instead of 3 chopped. Simple and versatile, I serve this with brocolli or over a salad for a light dinner.

White Chocolate Gorp

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
Can you say addicting and so versatile! You can truly add anything into this, peanuts, pretzels are great, plain cereal...all fantastic. I also think that adding peanut butter/chocolate candies add a great touch. This stuff is hard to get people to eat based on the lack of presentation, but once they start the honestly do not stop until every last morsel is gone!

Amazing Sun-Dried Tomato Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
Dieters beware!! This dish is not low on calories or fat and it is reserved for very special occasions. On that note, it is absolutely divine! I would suggest tripling the sun-dried tomatoes, and you can use all grated parmesan if that is all you have and it still turns out great. I usually cook some chicken in a little bitt of olive oil and then make the sauce and add the chicken back in and toss with some pasta....perfect!

Butter Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2008
If you are going to go through the process of using very cold butter, cold mixing bowl, ice water, etc this is a great pie crust. Great flavor and very flaky as the title suggests! Great with any pie...much better than shortening. I suggest brushing the top with either an egg wash or melted butter so it gets nice and golden brown.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
First of all this chicken is great hot in a wrap or even cold in a packed lunch. You can serve this so many ways. When I make sandwiches I leave the chicken breasts whole and add ranch dressing on the top. For the wraps I actually shred the chicken after cooking it in the skillet. This is great when it is cooked on the grill or on the stovetop.

Roasted Cajun Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
These were amazing and surprisingly easy to make. They filled the house with their amazing aroma!! I did not change anything except adding some extra garlic. I roasted them for an extra 15 minutes to get a nice crisp on the outside. These potatoes go great the with Tex-Mex Burger with Cajun Mayo recipe from this website!

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
You cannot get any easier for such a great dish!! This dish is so simple to make, just assemble the ingredients and bake, nothing else to it! I would not recommend changing a thing. I will serve this with spanish rice, or on a bed of lettuce, or in a tortilla...always with some extra salsa on the side. So good!

Eclair Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
I do not know how you could not give this recipe 5 stars! I made this for a small group of people and it was gone by the end of the night and they all wanted the recipe. It is great to give as a gift to someone who just had a baby because it can easily be stored in the fridge and served up whenever. It is so simple to put together and just has great flavor. Anytime I make it, this dish gets rave reviews. Thank you! This is a staple in my house and for all gatherings.

Antipasto Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
Very good, people always ask me for the recipe. I use spiral pasta instead of seashell. I use a 7 oz. package of pepperoni slices instead of hte deli salami and pepperoni sausage...I cut the slices in half. I also used cubed mozzarella or colby jack, also chopped in half. Instaed of the bell pepper, I use a 10 oz. jar of artichokes, also chopped. I use whole cherry tomatoes and 2 packages of the dressing mix, reserving half of one for the actually dressing. Yum!

Fruit Dip II

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2008
Obviously this recipe could not be any easier. Make sure that the cream cheese is softened! You can switch it up by adding strawberry cream cheese instead of plain. Takes great with grapes, strawberries, cantalope, honeydew, and pineapple. Great to have out for guests in the summer.
