Italian Creme Layer Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
Wow! I made this for Christmas eve dinner, which is always Italian food and it paired perfectly. This cake is very rich and dense, but has a great flavor. I did not change anything. The only thing to keep in mind is that it is oily, you can definitely tell there is some butter in this.

Lana's Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
This is a good recipe just not fantastic. I found that it needed more sauce after cooking an additional 20 minutes on the stove top. It still had great flavor and goes great on a bed of rice. I would make this again and try to add more sauce, maybe reserve some in a sauce pan to drizzle over the top at the end.

White Chocolate Gorp

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
Can you say addicting and so versatile! You can truly add anything into this, peanuts, pretzels are great, plain cereal...all fantastic. I also think that adding peanut butter/chocolate candies add a great touch. This stuff is hard to get people to eat based on the lack of presentation, but once they start the honestly do not stop until every last morsel is gone!

Barbecue Beef Cups

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
I made these for a picnic, which is perfect to serve at room temperature or better just out of the oven. I made a few changes though. I used 1 lb. of ground beef, I used 3/4 cup of bbq sauce, and I let this mixture simmer for 15 minutes to really meld those flavors together. This is a very simple recipe and for anyone who likes a lot of sauce, I also serve a bowl of extra bbq sauce on the side.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
I have never tasted a chocolate chip cookie better than this!! I make these every week to put in my fiance's lunch, they are his favorite. I have not changed a thing, I usually under cook them a little, basically I take them out when the edges barely get brown. This makes the cookie nice and gooey inside. After finding this cookie, I have no desire to keep searching. Thank you!

Amish Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
I think this would have been better with less mustard. I took the advice of other reviewers and I used less sugar, but I still was not impressed with the overall flavor. I did not have celery seed so I used some garlic powder instead.

Chewy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
These are hands down the best tasting sugar cookies. Perfectly crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Tastes great with frosting. I just wish they did not spread out to twice the size. If anyone has suggestions to capture this great flavor in a roll out cookie I would love to know...thought I think it has to do with the butter content haha. Still a delicious, simple drop cookie.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
These are a staple in my house for every single holiday...I love that you can roll the dough out but the flavor just isn't totally there for me. I have increased the sugar to 3 cups and I roll the dough in powdered sugar. I always top these cookies with sugar cookie icing and special sprinkles, they are also good plain.

Pepperoni Caesar Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
So good! I added extra caesar dressing as needed, especially after having it in the fridge overnight. I also added some olives which were a delicious addition. I will definitely make again, this is also great with Italian dressing or Ranch dressing.

Pesto Chicken Florentine

So good! I added an extra tablespoon of pesto, as well as 3/4 cup of sun-dried tomatoes. I also used angel hair pasta and it was the perfect combination.

Apple Crumb Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
Hands down the best apple pie recipe! I did not add the walnuts, but it still turned out perfectly. I used roughly 4 granny smith apples. I also doubled the cinnamon and nutmeg with the apple mixture as well as doubling the crumb topping. For a couple minutes at the end I put the pie under the broiler on low to give it a nice crisp texture. Make sure to place a pan beneath the pie plate to prevent drippings from falling on the oven! I used the French Pastry Pie Crust recipe from this site and it was perfect. I made this for the Fourth of July and it was loved by everyone!

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
Extremely moist and full of flavor. The only I changed was I added freshly roasted garlic to the olive oil, which gave it great flavor. I served it with the Easy Alredo sauce from this website and it was a hit! I will definitely be making this again!

Cookies 'n Cream Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
So moist!! I made this for my fiance's grandmother's 90th birthday!! Everyone loved it. I did not change a thing except I used mini chocolate sandwich cookies from the bag, I crushed up one bag in the batter and the other bag I lined the top of the cake with and shaped into a 9 and 0 for her birthday. Turned out gorgeous, great on presentation and taste!

Without a doubt, the best brownie recipe on this site! They are so fudgy and scrumptious!! My fiance and I could not get enough of them. I followed the recipe exactly and I would not change a things, except adding PB chips, or white chocolate chips for a change of flavor. So good! Thank you!!

French Pastry Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
This is the best and easiest dessert pie crust recipe!! I love that you don't need to have everything chilled and it comes together in no time. I took the advice from other reviewers and I just plastic wrap to bring all of the crumbs together in a ball and then I put it in the fridge for an hour to make sure it was nice and firm. I also used butter flavored shortening to give it an extra rich taste, I have tried it both ways and every time it turns out flaky and delicious. It was easy to roll out and stayed together beautifully, make sure to poke holes in the bottom.
