To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
These muffins are so good and very simple! I did not change anything, you can use fresh or frozen blueberries, just make sure you thaw out the frozen blueberries before adding them to the batter. Make sure to line the muffin tin with muffin cups. One thing I find really helpful is to take a knife around the outside of each muffin a couple of minutes after removing from the oven because sometimes the butter/sugar mixture will form a crust onto the tin and it is pretty hard to remove the muffin in one piece.

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
These are the best and easiest scones to make!! They come together perfectly and you can cut them out in any shape you like. I did not change anything about the recipe, sometimes I add raisins, sometimes chocolate chips and I drizzle it with either jam or a powdered sugar icing. Yum!

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
This is addicting and incredibly rich!! You cannot have much of this at once!! Every time I make this everyone loves it and they always come back for seconds and thirds! This is also very simple and makes a great presentation in a trifle bowl!

Strawberry Angel Food Dessert

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
I love this recipe for so many reasons. I come from a family that will not eat a dessert unless it contains chocolate. They actually ate this and loved it!! I served it in a trifle bowl and kept all of the ingredients and proportions exactly the same. I actually made my own angel food cake, but that is just a personal preference. Great summer dessert and wonderful presentation!

Eclair Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
I do not know how you could not give this recipe 5 stars! I made this for a small group of people and it was gone by the end of the night and they all wanted the recipe. It is great to give as a gift to someone who just had a baby because it can easily be stored in the fridge and served up whenever. It is so simple to put together and just has great flavor. Anytime I make it, this dish gets rave reviews. Thank you! This is a staple in my house and for all gatherings.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
I am giving this apple pie four stars because it is missing some essential ingredients. With the modifications it is a truly great apple pie. I add 1/2-1 tsp. of cinnamon, depending on your tastes, and 1/8-1/4 tsp. of nutmeg. I also keep all of the other ingredients the same except I reduce the number of Granny smith apples to 6.

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
You cannot get any easier for such a great dish!! This dish is so simple to make, just assemble the ingredients and bake, nothing else to it! I would not recommend changing a thing. I will serve this with spanish rice, or on a bed of lettuce, or in a tortilla...always with some extra salsa on the side. So good!

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
This is the best sloppy joe recipe! I have tried it several ways and it always turns out delicious. Sometimes I do not add the bell pepper and I use dried minced onion and you still get that great flavor. This first time I made these I actually forgot to add the brown sugar and they still came out great! Simmering this for at least 30 minutes is absolutely necessary to get that great flavor. Best recipe for these by far!

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
This chicken was okay, but it obviously has a strong mustard flavor so beware of that for those picky eaters. It was very moist and pairs great with rice and you do not taste the curry at all.

Roasted Cajun Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
These were amazing and surprisingly easy to make. They filled the house with their amazing aroma!! I did not change anything except adding some extra garlic. I roasted them for an extra 15 minutes to get a nice crisp on the outside. These potatoes go great the with Tex-Mex Burger with Cajun Mayo recipe from this website!

Tex-Mex Burger with Cajun Mayo

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
Fantastic!! I could not believe how moist these are!! I did not add the jalapeno and I but the onion and extra garlic into the food processor because the burgers will fall apart on the grill if they are not finely, finely minced. Such a great flavor and incredibly juicy. These burgers go great with the roasted cajun potatoes recipe from this website!

Caramel Brownies II

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
I made these for my Christmas dessert baskets last year and they were a big hit. I omitted the nuts since most of my family and friends are not a big fan of them. They only thing I suggest is seriously spray the pan or butter/flour because that caramel will definitely stick! Very good and simple!

Amazing Sun-Dried Tomato Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
Dieters beware!! This dish is not low on calories or fat and it is reserved for very special occasions. On that note, it is absolutely divine! I would suggest tripling the sun-dried tomatoes, and you can use all grated parmesan if that is all you have and it still turns out great. I usually cook some chicken in a little bitt of olive oil and then make the sauce and add the chicken back in and toss with some pasta....perfect!

Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
I would have given this recipe 5 stars but after a couple of hours in the fridge the dressing was completely soaked up and it was rather dry. If you add milk to loosen it up you lose the flavor, I suggest reserving some of the dressing to toss the pasta salad with before serving. Also, if you are not a huge fan of bacon, I would add some bacon bits instead of freshly cooked bacon because it is a very strong flavor in this dish. Overall it was pretty good and I would make it again with those modifications.

Taco Dip I

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
I was pleasantly surprised by this dip. I thought it would need to be warm, but it was delicious room temperature or even cold. Great flavor and very versatile, you can add or remove any of the toppings and it still tastes delicious. It is great with plain tortilla chips or nacho cheese chips as well.

White Chocolate Blondies

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
These are good, have great flavor, but they are almost like cake. So if you are looking for something dense and very moist, these are not it. Make sure to toss the chocolate chips in flour before stirring them into the batter or they will fall to the bottom of the pan.

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies IV

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
Very good, almost addicting cookie. Not too sweet at all. For those who do not like nuts, I have made this recipe before without them and it still tastes great. I did not modify the recipe at all...I made a little bit larger of a cookie and cooked them for 10 minutes and they came out wonderful.

White Chip Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
I gave these a 4 stars because after a day or two they became very dry, even with a slice of bread in the container. Right out of the oven or a couple of hours later they were very good. I suggest cooking them for 8 minutes as a maximum, depending on the size of your cookie of course, they can then set up and they are gooey and pretty tasty.

Sandy's Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
Wow! This is a little more time consuming than some other cakes but it is well worth the effort. It is so moist, dense, and delicious. I did not change a thing and it was great. The best part was the icing and I was surprised with the addition of sour cream. This is now one of my favorite frostings, with or without the chocolate because it has the perfect amount of sweetness and goes well with anything.

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
I gave this 5 stars because it is simple and delicious. This dessert comes together in no time and after some time in the freezer my fiance could not get enough. This is great on hot summer nights when you need a cool treat. I think I would add some chocolate pb cups on top or inside to try something different. This tastes exactly like the inside of a pb ice cream treat and I am sure if it lasted for days before being eaten it would only get better. Truly great recipe.
