My little pal...Buster
About this Cook
I am 21 year old student at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. I love to cook for my fiance and his family. I love baking and preparing entirely too many dishes for parties and events, desserts and appetizers are my favorite.
My favorite things to cook
I absolutely love to bake! Baking is how I got my start in the kitchen. When I was a little girl I would bake cakes and cookies with my great grandmother, so being in the kitchen is truly special to me! I love to bake cakes, pies, brownies, cookies, tarts, cheesecakes...just everything. I love cooking pasta dishes, trying recipes in the slow cooker, and any dish that involves chicken.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas I get together with the women in my family and we cook cookies, breads, fudge, and all sorts of other yummy treats. This last Christmas was so special because my very little cousin came over and helped me. I love making memories with family in the kitchen. I am known as the baker in the family and any event we have I am definitely in charge of desserts.
My cooking triumphs
This past Thanksgiving I cooked the entire meal. I cooked the turkey, creamy baked corn, pumpkin souffle, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls, stuffing, pecan pie, apple pie. I have never seen the oven and stove top so full of food!! It all turned out absolutely delicious!
My cooking tragedies
Probably the first time I made an alfredo sauce, it turned out gritty for some reason.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream
Tasty and simple. I have made this a variety of ways and everyone says it has a "restaurant flavor". Sometimes I use turkey sausauge, or hamburger meat. I also puree twice the amount of garlic in my food processor, we love the flavor of garlic. I have also used a 26 oz. jar of pasta sauce instead of the canned tomatoes. It always turns out well.

Greek Chicken
Very nice, light flavor. I used 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts instead of a chicken quartered. I also grated 5 cloves of garlic instead of 3 chopped. Simple and versatile, I serve this with brocolli or over a salad for a light dinner.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs
First of all this chicken is great hot in a wrap or even cold in a packed lunch. You can serve this so many ways. When I make sandwiches I leave the chicken breasts whole and add ranch dressing on the top. For the wraps I actually shred the chicken after cooking it in the skillet. This is great when it is cooked on the grill or on the stovetop.
