Slow Cooked Teriyaki Venison

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2009
This is a very very easy and delicious recipe. The only change was that I used apple cider instead of juice and added one thinly sliced onion to the cooker. The gravy is incredible and pairing this meat with mashed potatoes was perfect. We had unexpected guests who also loved this dish. I was leary because I slow cooked a venison roast before and wasnt thrilled with the result. I will keep this recipe and use for both venison and beef.

Mrs. Baxton's Long Island Iced Tea

An excellent recipe exactly as is. Obviously the better the spirits the better the drink, but don't use Tanguray gin...

Chicken Scarpariello

A killer recipe. I used skinned thighs and legs. Browned them in a cast iron pan, readded them after the shallots and garlic...etc and half way through baking squirted a half of lemon. A delicious mix of Marsala and picatta...next time I'm gonna add some mushrooms

Restaurant-Style Prime Rib Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
We've tried several rib recipes from this site and this was by far the best. I put the flour mixture into an old spice container and shook the coating on. Within a half hour the whole house smelled delicious. This will remain my go to roast recipe.

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2009
Over the past few years I have used MANY recipes from this site, most with some degree of success. However, this has to be the best recipe I have tried from here. The bread was absolutely amazing although my shaping technique needs a lot of help. I used the bread machine and followed the recipe exactly. I actually set the timer so it was completed when I woke up. I then shaped it, let it rise for 40 minutes and placed in the oven. One loaf is gone already and I have another batch mixing as I type. We are going to try it as pizza crust tonight. My wife kept saying it was the best bread ever with every bite. Seems like it would be good as a pepperoni bread too.

Steve's Bourbon Buffalo Wing Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2012
I tried this for the first time tonight exactly as written. After simmering I dipped a spoon, turned and tasted...I literally spun around and stared at the pot. It was incredible!!! Had my buddy over for wings and he said they were the best wings he's ever eaten and I have to agree. The bourbon smell is heavy but blends perfectly for an initial taste of sweetness with a heat that creeps up but doesn't overpower. I do a lot of BBQ and can't wait to try this on my next rack of smoked ribs. Absolutely perfect!!!

Brisket with BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2011
A very good basic sauce recipe. I used crushed celery seed since I didnt have the celery salt. There are so many options to make this sauce into what you want. My wife loved it and its much easier to make then my own private sauce. Worth the try.

Thai Tuna Burgers

An excellent recipe. I didn't have Ginger so I left it out but can imagine the added flavor. Pan fried in virgin coconut oil and served on a whole wheat muffin with mayo and sirachia. Excellent.

Herb Roasted Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2008
A very good recipe. Like many of the others I doubled the rub. The cooking time was much shorter than listed so the glaze went on just as the loin came out. I rubbed the loin, wrapped in seran wrap and put it in the fridge for a few hours before. Seared it before putting it in the oven. Put apple juice in the pan at the start and added water mid way through. Once the loin was out I moved all the delicious juice to a pan, added sliced onions and some corn starch slurry and made a great gravy to but over basmati rice. It was delicious. My 2 year old had three helpings.

Simple Southwestern Chicken Salad

This is a really easy and tasty recipe. Somehow we didnt have celery so I added green and red bell pepper, onion and about one half of lime juice. I also cut the taco seasoning to a half of packet. Absolutely delicious.

Made the recipe exactly as shown. Only change was tossing in the cinnamon and sugar without the butter. Just enough of the mix sticks without the greasiness. They are delicious

Key Lime Pie VII

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2011
I have been making key lime pies ever since visiting Key West several years ago. This is the closest Ive come to the flavor and texture of Blonde Giraffe. The ommission of egg yolks and addition of the sour cream makes the pie lighter in texture and less like a custard. I will definately use this from now on.

A very nice refreshing drink for the summer or the winter if you want to pretend youre somewhere warm. A perfect balance of sweetness and tartness. My kids love it and its better for them then the juice drinks.

Cardamom Chicken with Salt and Pepper Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
This recipe turned out great. I only marinated the meat for about two hours but the flavors were very present. Also, I thought I had cardamom but didnt so I used a dash of Old Bay Seasoning. Everyone really enjoyed this one.
