New Duchess Spice Cake with Maple Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
Very good cake! No problems with moisture, as I layered the buttermilk with the dry ingredients and turned back the baking time. Just a note, I don't usually have buttermilk hanging around, so if I have a recipe that calls for it I combine 1 cup of milk with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. This is a great substitute!

B and L's Strawberry Smoothie

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2008
Great recipe! I did make a few changes though. I used 10-12 frozen strawberries (then you don't need to use the ice), 1 Tbsp. sugar, 1 teas vanilla and used whatever kind of yogurt I had in my 'fridge. (Peach once and strawberry the other) Awesome!

Gooey Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
A wonderful, flexible recipe! You can mold it to anyone's taste. I agree that it's better than the original Gooey Butter Cake which is very sweet. Thanks to all who left how they experimented with this recipe!

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
Very easy and fast for a hungry family. We rarely order out anymore-I can make this faster than the delivery guy can get here! We also make breadsticks from this recipe-sprinkled with garlic butter and parmesean cheese.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2008
Most Excellent! Been looking for a recipe like this for a long time! I rolled the dough out between 2 pieces of parchment, which helped with the stickiness. Also, I found that with my oven I had to take it down to 375 degrees because the edges were getting a little too dark.

Busy Night Turkey Taco Soup with Avocado Cream

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
My family loves this soup! I use it to use up leftover turkey or chicken and it's wonderful. I haven't made the avacado cream, but serve it over or with (depending on the style of the individual) tortilla chips and topped with sour cream! Sooo yummy!

I cut down on the sugar and used the left over sweet potatoes from Christmas!

Green Tomato Raspberry Jam

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
The only reason I gave this 4 stars is for the changes I made, but I give the concept 5 stars!! Due to texture issues, I peeled the tomatoes first, put them in the blender for a bit, then strained out the seeds. I also reduced the sugar to 3 cups, then boiled it on a lower heat until it had condensed quite a bit. We experimented with different flavors of Jello (by halving the recipe, you only have to use 1 box) and, other than the color, they were all great. The red turned out the best as far as color goes. My favorite part is that I can use all the end of the season tomatoes from the garden!
