Chicken and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2008
A good basic recipe. I ommited all the vegetables and added shredded cheese. I think I combined the basics of this recipe and the basics of another souple, golden potato soup on this website. Sounds like a good soup though

Chocolate Chip Meringue Drops

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2008
Wow! I was really impressed with the quick preperation time but a little disappointed about the long cooking time (I just couldnt wait to eat them). I am not much of a fan of low fat cooking because it always seems like something is missing. But these are PERFECT! I can not believe these are low fat! They taste like heaven! And One things for sure- the lower fat they are, the more cookies I can eat! Yum!

Wedding Cake Icing

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2008
Wow! Wow! Wow! This recipe is fantastic! I try to make everything homemade and I never could find a recipe for an icing that I liked. Everthing was too sweet, too runny or tasted like pure sugar. And then... I found this one. I didn't have shortening on hand (nor have any idea what it is) so I used butter instead. What a beautiful buttercream icing!!!! The only advice I can give is refrigerate the cake and just chill the icing for a little while. For me, it prevented alot of crumbling. Thank you so much. I have hope for recipes to come knowing that I have a a@# kicking (I can't find a phrase that is remotely close to how I feel) icing to put on top. THANK-YOU!!!

Eileen's Spicy Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
The cookies tasted great but that was only after we added a lot more flour. We tryed the recipe as the author wrote it and unfortunately the dough was way too gooey, even after we refrigerated it over night. But after we made the adjustments, cut and baked the cookies, that tasted great. These are the only gingerbread cookies that havent fallen apart on me.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2007
One day my daughter decided that she wanted to butcher our pumpkin that we wanted to use to make a jack-o-lantern. So we cooked and pured the pumpkin and put it in the freezer. We were trying to find some great pumpkin recipes, that werent pumplin pie (I hate pumpkin pie), we came across this one. We have it a try and BOY, WAS IT GOOD! THe whole kitchen smelled like christmas and when they came out, the unique cake-like texure was awesome. It was like mini pumpkin spice cakes. We acually made our own cream cheese icing and it was a hit at our family scrabble night (Yes! Scrabble night...). My daughter even took them to school for snack and she is A a VERY picky eater. You should be very proud of this recipe. it is the most requested dessert at our family gatherings. And its actually a little healthy!

Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2007
This recipe was good- it disappeared quite fast when we made them. Unfortunatly, i was hoping it would have more of a cream cheese taste- at least taste somewhat like cheesecake. To me, they just taste like chocolate chip muffins- but very very good muffins. For the misleading title, I am forced to give it only four stars :-(

Pumpkin Gingerbread

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2007
Oh my God! My daughter begged me to butcher her Jack-o-lantern so that we could make pumpkin pie. WEll, I hate pumpkin pie but I agreed to meet her half way. WE butchered the pumpkin, made the puree and the next day, made the bread. IT WAS AWESOME!!!!! I never knew that pumpkin could taste so good! It was easy to make and a great way to spend time with my daughter. My whole family raved about it and it certainly gave my daughter a huge boost in confidence. This is a great food to make with your kids especially during the holiday season. Great job!

Lamb and Bulgur Soup (Shorba Freek)

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2007
My husband is from tunisia and I made this on the first night of ramadan. Delicious! It is just like the soup they make in his home country, the only difference is that they use tomato paste instead of canned tomatoes. The soup was kind of watery so I did the same. Good starter recipe for people like me who is unfamiliar with arabic cuisine.

Golden Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2007
This is the best potato soup recipe that I have ever tasted! Since we dont eat pork, I used turkey ham and used cheddar cheese instead of american cheese. When the winter comes and we are snowed in, I will definately make this soup. I had all the ingredients on hand and it was so quick! I am a working mom and working moms really appreciate recipes like this. Thanks!
