About this Cook
My husband and I are highschool sweethearts and have been together for over 24 years, married for 19yrs. We have two sons Scott and Jerry, 2 cats Samantha and Smiger, one cockatiel bird Larry . One thing not mentioned for hobbies that I enjoy doing is to crochet.I have been crocheting for over 30 yrs. My Aunt Arlene taught me how when I was just 11 yrs old. I crochet afghans and doilies for the most part, but will make the occasional stuffed animal as well.
My favorite things to cook
Anything that says down home cooking. I don't mind trying something new and am always looking for new recipes. I enjoy making the big Sunday breakfast for my family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas dinner. We always have a large bone-in- ham and love to try new side dishes along with the traditional salad and mashed potatoes.
My cooking triumphs
Potroast with all of the fixes. I let it marinate in olive oil, 3to 4 cloves of garlic and a mix of my favorite seasonings. I refrigerate overnight if possible, brown it the next day and let it cook on the stove top for 3 to 4 hours depending on the size of the roast.
My cooking tragedies
Making a spaghetti sauce and the top of the garlic or onion salt came off while I was adding some to sauce.OOps!

Marinated Baked Pork Chops
Marinate was easy to prepare and delicious .. I left out the lemon juice only because I didn'thave any on hand but felt after tasting the sauce that there was no need for it. I had used a baking dish as suggested but it prevented the pork chops from browning and marinated to adhear to meat so half way throught the cooking process I replace the baking dish with a cookie sheet. I also turned up the heat of the oven from 350 to 375 .. which helped in the browning process .. will make again but may go up a few degrees more on the oven ..

One Dish Vegetarian Dinner
Family started a tradtion about 3 yrs ago called " Meatless Monday" so I'm always on the look out for new recipes .. Like the others I found this bland and in need of more flavor .. the cheeses were a good idea or a simple cheese sauce for a more " fancy ' mac and cheese ' will probably not make again

Party Pinwheels
Very easy to make .. turned out to be a hit for the BIG game .. Will probably add some other ingredients to enhance more flavor .. Hubby and eldest son like spicy food so maybe some jalapeno or strong onion
