Secret Ingredient Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2011
Delicious and easy to make. I used fresh chopped tomatoes and two bay leaves, in addition to the dark coco powder...the large jalepeno was added for subtle heat TIP: leave as one piece and do not open, this way the taste and not the heat is released from the pepper. Little ones may now enjoy this recipe too!

Moussaka

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2011
Excellent, easy recipe. Tasted wonderful. I didn't add the egg to the meat mixture, because I like the crumbly meat texture...think Greek style sloppy Joe! Enjoy! Oh, and adding some fresh herbs on top, what was put into the meat sauce, gives it a nice finishing. Some cinnamon gives it an aroma to die for!

Chilean Potato Pie (Pastel de Papas)

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2011
Great recipe which lends itself to more creativity! I added sliced green olives, cilantro, diced green hot chili, diced raw tomato and red onion. No egg in the mash...two levels are super yummy! I also put in lima beans with canned corn...great meal with lots of leftovers! Enjoy!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2009
wow, so easy to do and so yummy to eat! i always have used the boxed mix (never thinking there would be a significant difference in taste) well, the economic crisis has us all looking for budget recipes...this one is the best! the taste is sooooooo different...i will NEVER use boxed again! thank you for grandma's recipe! (btw, i followed the the advice of sifting dry ingrediants 3 times, using all wet ingredients at warm temperature, and mixed the dry with the (warm) wet very lightly leaving lumps! great tips from the other reviewers! My addition: a pinch of vanilla!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2008
very yummy -- but i felt the dough was too dry (not as moist as Cinnabon's)...next time i will take the advice of another reviewer -->don't skimp on the butter in the filling...and don't melt it either! make a paste with the butter/cinnamon,sugar filling...will definitely try these again!

Spinach and Blue Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
I would give this 4 1/2 stars -- only because although i thoroughly enjoyed it, my husband did not...so I quess I must add that this soup has a particular taste for particular taste buds! But if you like the spinach/artichoke dip from TGIF, then you will love this!

very yummy...didnt have molasses, so added 3 tspns of packed brown sugar -- no additional water or juice (because mixture looked like a cookie dough already- but did grate zest of 1 orange instead, keft refrigerated for 45 minutes (like others suggested) -- they came out fabulous -- left them in oven for a while longer and got a delicious crunchy cookie!! all the rave!!

Whole Grain Waffles

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2011
I made these this morning with my toddler. Easy and quick to put together. I add bee pollen granules for extra health. And an extra egg because my batterr was too thick...perhaps it was because didn't use pastry flour but instead ww all purpose flour. Otherwise all directions followed. Now I am experimenting by cooking the batter in my moulinex panini press...they came out like panini pressed pancakes...tastes relish but not a risky waffle! Five stars for a wonderful recipe...and I just found out a new way to cook light fluffy pancakes. Awesome!

Easy peasy...made these with my toddler! Yummy...I didn't have canned grated coconut, I used orange flower water and golden syrup with some honey to wet the dry coconut...I added pine nuts...I tweak things...but I am sure the recipe is great by itself...it lends itself to creativity!
