Garden Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2008
Definitely WAY too much dressing if you prepare as directed. I used not quite a bottle, and it was just right. Otherwise, delicious!

Healthy Turkey Loaf

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2008
I added one packet of Onion soup mix to this loaf and spread the top with BBQ sauce before baking. It came out moist and delicious--my husband ate thirds!! Thanks!

Laura's Unbelievable Chicken and Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2008
The basic recipe wasn't bad. However, this sauce was a little too rich for my tastes. I'd like to try it again, experimenting with ways to reduce the amount of cream cheese but still have a tasty, creamy sauce.

Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2008
I LOVE this soup. I've made it no less than a dozen times since I've first tried it, and I get rave reviews every time. Delicious!

Savory Vegetable Beef Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2008
This was okay, but not as good as a gravy-based beef stew. I added extra garlic and vegetables, as well as some additional seasoning, and it was still a bit too bland. The diced tomatos and tomato sauce together gave it a flat, tomato-ey taste that I think can be improved upon. I'm still up in the air as to whether I'll make again, or just stick with the tried-and-true.

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2008
What a delicious banana bread! I added about 1/2 cup extra banana to a double recipe. (because I had that much left, and it was over-ripe)I questioned the qty of sugar...looked like too much. Turned out delicious!!! The extra banana made it a bit flatter than normal, but it wsa worth it. The bread came out sweet and so moist. The sugar helped to make the crust sweet and just the tiniest bit chewy-crisp, which I love. I can't vouch for how well it freezes, because my family annihilated two loaves in a day. Can't wait to make it again!

Fruit Cocktail Cake III

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
Sorry, but this was a BIG disappointment. It came out too sugary and dense, like a fruitcake.

Nut Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
Perfect, perfect, perfect! I add a smidge of extra cinnamon. But this dough is so easy to work with--no more broken-open, oozing nut rolls! This is a bit of a sweeter dough, so it makes more of a "desserty" nut roll than a savory one. But that's what I was looking for. Thanks!

Cedarwood

I think the lemon juice was a little too much, because it was tart for my tastebuds.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
I slightly modified this recipe. Added about an extra cup of water, as well as a total of 4 bouillion cubes. I doubled the ham, as my husband is a carnivore through and through. At the very end, I added appx. 1-1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese. Yum! The cheese is a definite plus. It's just a little thicker than a soup, but not quite a stew. Delicious!

Whole Wheat Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
These pancakes were wonderful. I, too, substituted oats for the wheat germ. Made them Christmas morning for guests, and they were blown away. They are wholesome with just a hint of sweetness. Served with homemade blueberry sauce. Try them!

The Best Zucchini Fritters Ever

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2007
A delicious way to use up my abundance of zucchini, as I'm sick of freezing bread! These were tasty...reminiscent of potato pancakes. My only change was to thin the batter a little with extra milk, as my first few came out more like zucchini pancakes when the batter was thick. Yummy!
