About this Cook
I'm a 30-year-old happily married mother of a beautiful little girl. I work from home, and love to cook, craft, and garden. I take great pride in being "domestic"!
My favorite things to cook
I tend to love soups/ stews and meals with some meat on their bones! I think the pressure cooker and crock pot are horribly underrated.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I'm part Slovak/"Hunky" and Polish, so great cooking is in my blood.
My cooking triumphs
Without bragging, most of what I make comes out great. It really only takes a basic idea of what spices and ingredients marry up well together. The rest is experimentation. Don't be afraid to get creative. As long as you don't overdue something like salt, it's hard to screw up too badly!
My cooking tragedies
One time I attempted a beer-cheese fondue that came out a gloppy, stringy mess. I haven't given up on fondue, though.

Garden Pasta Salad
Definitely WAY too much dressing if you prepare as directed. I used not quite a bottle, and it was just right. Otherwise, delicious!

Healthy Turkey Loaf
I added one packet of Onion soup mix to this loaf and spread the top with BBQ sauce before baking. It came out moist and delicious--my husband ate thirds!! Thanks!

Laura's Unbelievable Chicken and Pasta
The basic recipe wasn't bad. However, this sauce was a little too rich for my tastes. I'd like to try it again, experimenting with ways to reduce the amount of cream cheese but still have a tasty, creamy sauce.
