Potato and Cauliflower Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2012
I liked the cheese/cream sauce as a base but I thought it was too bland. I even added some marjoram and old bay but I guess it wasn't enough. I used russet potatoes and found I needed about four to balance the whole head of cauliflower. Also it a lil took longer to steam/boil potatos but that was ok. My fiance really liked this dish so I might try again but I would really like to find a good spice blend. Also I wanted to point out that I found heavy cream could be substituted with 3/4c milk and 1/4c butter, which is what I ended up using with freshly shredded swiss cheese.

Grandma Edna's Christmas Cabbage

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2012
I really like this even though I'm not a Huge cabbage fan. I made it for christmas eve and fiance liked it too. It's almost a comfort food. Made everything exactly as described except I only used 3/4 of a cabbage- not the largest one at the market either.

Vegetarian Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2012
This was my first time making stuffing and I think it turned out pretty good. I used all the optional ingredients and thought all the flavors blended really nicely. My fiance had some trouble picking a poultry seasoning -there were alot at Kroger- but I just picked the most basic with sage, rosemarry, thyme etc...

Vegetarian Bibimbap

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2012
Yeah, so I didn't have the sprouts or water chestnuts OR the chilli sauce but I had some sweet orange ginger sauce and it turned out great. I'm trying to eat less meat and this is a great quick meal. Substitute minute brown rice and you have a great meal for lunch or after you get home from working late.

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2012
This recipe was very good but a little sweet. It might have been my fault because I didn't have all the ingredients on hand so I had to improvise a lil ;0 But all the elements were there that I look for, it had a lot of zing, full bodied and the cheese and honey lent some creaminess. I had enough for two large pies (around 16" I think) Can't wait to try this recipe again and plan on shopping for it specifically

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2012
Fiance said he couldn't get a sandwich at a restaurant any better!! I didn't have a bottled wing sauce so I mixed Open Pit BBQ sauce from Sams Club with Franks red hot and 1/4 bottle of Chinese hot sauce(with rooster) along with some cumin and leaf majorum - omitted the butter and it turned out great!

We are a family who loves mushrooms and this recipe is one of the reasons why! It's so simple you don't need to change a thing and it's so delicious... I like to put them over pork chops :)

Christmas Morning Frittata

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2012
I thought this recipe was great and followed it exactly. I actually made it for christmas morning and my parents were impressed. Next time I will have to double the recipe because there was barely enough for four people!

Hamburger Stroganoff

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2010
This was very good. I changed quite a few things and it still came out great! I used 1lb ground beef sauteed with onions and garlic. I added 1/4 tsp. of sage, some cumin, red pepper and paprika along with salt and pepper. Also, I didn't have the cream of mushroon soup I was counting on to make this dish, so I substituted cream of celery along with beef bouillon. Canned shittake and white mushrooms topped it off nicely.
