Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2008
Excellent! Because I love garlic, I thinly sliced 3 garlic cloves and sprinkled them between layers. Also, I grated about 1/2 cup fresh parmesan and sprinkled between layers, and a bit on top for an extra zip. Wonderful.

Cinnamon Streusel Orange Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
Delicious! Flavourful and moist. A few changes for a slightly "healthier" version: substituted 1/2c whole wheat, did half oil half plain no fat yogurt, reduced sugar by 1/4 c., and used fresh squeezed orange juice. Also added orange zest for more orange flavour. Wonderful!

Excellent. If you like hot with a twist of sweet, great option for a pretzel dip!

Strawnana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2008
Tasty but not a strong strawberry or banana flavour due to the zest I think. Regardless, deliciously moist and flavourful. Changes I made: did half whole wheat half unbleached white flour, half brown sugar half white, half oil half plain non-fat yogurt, lemon zest instead of orange, frozen strawberries rather than fresh (all I had onhand) and pecans because that's all I had. Lovely but next time will up the strawberry alot and omit the zest alltogether.

French Beef Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
To die for! I used leftover medium-rare beef from a roast and followed same directions. After browning meat I removed and sautéed onion & 4 garlic cloves, added 1/4 c wine to remove brown bits from bottom, replaced meat after veggies cooked and continued with recipe. Add mustard gradually as dijon has a strong & particular flavour. Deliscious! A keeper!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2007
Excellent! I too did not use a bread machine and they still turned out beautifully! One change I made (which also did not change the consistency or flavour) was I used 2 1/2 cups unbleached flour and 2 cups whole wheat flour. Also omitted the icing due to personal preference... Healthier option yet still great!

Mimi's Giant Whole-Wheat Banana-Strawberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
Excellent for a low-fat healthy muffin. I made a few minor changes that did not change the great quality of the muffin! I reduced the sugar to 1/2 cup, and used peachy/applesauce and a tad bit less oil. Still nice texture, flavourful, but not too sweet! Thanks for the fabulous recipe!
