Easy Raspberry Lemonade

Reviewed: May 30, 2010
Very tangy. This was excellent. I made this for Memorial Day picnic. I wish it made more. I could not find frozen raspberry lemonade so I used pink lemonade. Very refreshing---it was all gone in no time. This is a keeper!!

Pineapple Chicken Tenders

Reviewed: May 30, 2010
Taste was very good. I let mine marinate for about 4 hours or so in the sauce. Unfortunately not as much flavor on the chicken as I would have liked---despite brushing them during cooking with the marinate. I'll definitely make this again.

Baked Kale Chips

Reviewed: May 29, 2010
Unbelievable. I planted kale for my chickens and they aren't eating them. I have at least 30 full bundles of kale and had NO idea what to make with them. I tried this. O-M-G. This is FANTASTIC. I went a little heavy with the salt first time around. We tried salt on some, garlic powder on some and lemon pepper on some----garlic is the best so far. Trying a batch with soy sauce and a dash of Worchestershire sauce. We'll keep experimenting. GREAT RECIPE!!! THANK YOU!!!

Sourdough Bread I

Reviewed: May 3, 2010
Didn't work for me. I used a starter recommended on another page consisting of 1c milk, 1c sugar, 1 c flour---stired daily for 5 days and same ingredients added again and process repeated. On day 10 I tried this sourdough. I read many comments by other readers first and tried to follow the "fool proof" suggestions. Mine came out flat and very sugary. I only used 1/4c sugar knowing my starter had plenty of sugar in it. I did not add yeast---as many said I did not need to. I had a dough that was like a kneadable dough at first but then it got wetter and wetter. I probably added at least 1/2 cup if not 1 cup as I went as it was all sticking to me and the board as I kneaded. I finally put it in the pans and it almost looked like banana bread in it before cooking. Just very wet. I followed suggestions saying not to add more flour, that it needed to be wet looking. Nuttin. Never rose. I think I'm back to buying yummy sr dough from the store. It was worth a try but a little disheartening.

Amish Friendship Bread Starter

Reviewed: May 3, 2010
Not exactly sure how to rate this. I followed "Olga"'s recipe from the first page on how to make traditional starter---1c milk-1c flour and 1c sugar. Let it sit 5 days and repeated. On day 10 I made my bread and it came out FLAT and extremely sugary. It may have been me as a novice but I will follow a recipe with less sugar and with yeast next time.

fantastic! Was hoping for more of a 'whipped cream' type of filling but it was a custard-like one. Tasty, too!!

Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
I'm not a pumpkin pie fan so I didn't try it but my husband said it was very good. Said he thought it was lighter/more airy than usual. I think the topping might have been a little bit too much. He said it was "different" but still it was good.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
Has anyone tried this in a crock pot? 10 stars if I could give them. BEST recipe I've come by. KUDOS to you. Better than restaurant--IMHO. Would love to know if this would be as good in a crock pot.

It was good but not great. It seemed like it was missing something. It does have a similar flavor to chicken cordon blu.

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2008
Fabulous but a little too spicy. Added Frito's like someone recommended and it was great! I would recommending cutting back on the 1/4 cup of chili powder. Making it again tonight and only using 2 large tsp.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2008
I have made this OVER AND OVER again and it gets the most raving reviews of anything I make. I even tried to make it from memory early on and was off on measurements---but I could not ruin it! This is the best recipe, hands down.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Wow. Most certainly 5 star worthy. I will now retire my old banana bread recipe. I, too, substituted 1/3c oil and added about 2 handfuls of walnuts broken up. FABULOUS RECIPE---THANKS SO MUCH!!!
