Pecan Sour Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2012
Delicous! I added some lemon peel to the cake batter....I found the glaze made the cake a bit soggy on the bottom day one but was better day two. Will definitely make this again, super easy and good!!

Brisket with BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2012
WOW!!!! Fantastic, y'all should try this one! I used garlic and onion powders, salt and liquid smoke. My brisket was nearly ten pounds, so I started it at 5:30 a.m. I was worried when I woke at nine because the cnt of the liquid smoke was overpowerin; I was worried I had ruined it. When I did eventually take it out of theboven, I had a fantastically tender, good-flavored brisket. I opted not to bake it a second time with the bbq sauce, rather I served it along side. I recommend this highly!

Cream Cheese Frosting with Brown Butter and Bourbon

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2012
It has a good flavor but I think I would make more browned butter to increase it's flavor a bit more. I was serving cake to children so I opted not to add the bourbon although I will try that another time. Definitely a keeper recipe, thank you metread! I used it on a banana cake recipe (from this site too) and it was really good!

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2012
Very tasty! Too tart for my son's taste, but not many 10 year olds like lemon desserts....my husband and I thought it was fantastic!! For the crust I used the one called Grandmom XXXX pie crust....can't remember the name but it's description said it was 100 yr old recipe and it had an egg in the mix.....look for it, it is worth it!!!

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2011
Super easy and yummy. I divided the dough in half and added dried cranberries and orange zest to one half and chocolate chips to the other. The ones with orange peel, I made a glaze with powdered sugar, orange juice and a bit of zest. All this for the royal wedding between William and Kate....super yum!

Mayonnaise Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2011
The name will put you off. Don't let it. Mayonnaise is only made from eggs, oil and lemon juice - perfection in a cookie. I made these and rolled them into the walnut-sized balls and threw them in the oven. Half way through the baking time I remembered they were to be flattened with a fork. Did that and sprinkled plain granulated sugar on some and colored Wilton type sugar on the others.....wowsers! Really good cookie! Similar to a sugar cookie. Definitely 'a keeper'. Thank you Kay!

Happy Birthday Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2010
Hey guys, this is a good recipe....I have a business and a client was looking for a white/yellow cake base with strawberry filling and a buttercream frosting. THIS IS IT!!! This cake reminds me a lot of another coconut cake I make that I get lots of rave reviews for. This will be the cake I use for children's parties and adults as well!! Thank you Carol for the recipe!
