About this Cook
I've been married for almost 12 years with two boys ages 10 and 6. I work full time and stay active with their schooling and sports. Most nights I don't have time to cook like I'd like but I do love cooking and baking. Somedays, on the weekend, I spend almost all day just looking at recipes.
My favorite things to cook
Pasta and desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have Easter at our house each year with about 40 people so I always like to try my recipes out then.
My cooking triumphs
I have recently begun going out of my comfort zone with recipes and trying new things that I normally wouldn't make. I'm not so sure that my family enjoys all my adventures but I try them anyway.
My cooking tragedies
I can't even remember the name of the cake now but it was horrible and the ingrediants were quite expensive (around 30 bucks for just a round cake.) I got the recipe from a former classmate and didn't have the heart to tell her that it was disgusting. Her picture looked very pretty though :)

Six Flavor Glaze
I didn't have coconut extract but I used all the other flavors. I tried it while hot, right out of the pan and was hesitant on using it on my pumpkin bread. The flavors were very powerful. I'd made two loafs of bread and opted to add the glaze to only one, just in case I didn't like it. I was surprised. Once the bread absorbed the glaze, the flavors weren't as powering and was actually very good.

Quick Bread Mix
Very quick easy bread. One of the better tasting breads I made in a while. I threw in some left over ingredients (pumpkin, walnuts and cranberry) I had and it turned out wonderful.I also topped it off with the 6 flavor sugar glaze found on this site and my family loved it. The bread was good with or without the glaze. I doubt I'll use any other bread recipes again.

Pop's Dill Pickles
I found this recipe on another site a few weeks ago. It was my first try at making pickles. It was super easy. I just tried my first pickle a couple days ago and they were fantastic. I liked them so much, I made another 8 jars last night. The recipe I made also called for mustard and celery seed. Not sure what the taste difference is; but it does add a nice look to the pickles in the jar.
