Maple Glazed Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2008
This sauce is very sweet when you first taste it, but not quite as sweet once you're finished cooking the ribs. I doubled the sauce and baked the ribs in half of the sauce in the oven at 300 degrees for 2 hours, then put them on the grill for 20 minutes. I only used 1/2 cup of maple syrup and added BBQ sauce to cut the sweetness. My 9-year old son liked them because he has a sweet tooth!

Chicago-Style Pan Pizza

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
Really good - my family enjoyed it. As others suggested, I used a frozen bread dough, let it rise for about 3 hours, then baked in a cast iron skillet for 15 minutes at 400 before lowering oven to 350 and adding the rest of the ingredients. Crust was perfect. We thought it could use another meat with the sausage - maybe bacon or pepperoni, and more mozzarella cheese. It is very filling! Great served with a simple salad.

Rich and Simple French Onion Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
This soup is awesome! It is so simple and tastes restaurant quality. No changes to recipe -- it is perfect the way it is. Other French Onion soup recipes are much more complicated, but don't bother because this one is fantastic.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
This is good and really easy to make. I made it for a Superbowl party. I suggest serving it in a crock pot so it stays hot. It is spicy... doubled the jalapenos as suggested by most readers. Also made it with low-fat mayo and cream cheese and you couldn't tell at all.

Bubble Pizza

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
This is really good and definitely a kid favorite. My son enjoyed helping me make it. We used fresh mushrooms, sliced red onion, and Boboli pizza sauce -- it was great! We also added some pancetta to the meat mixture since I had some in the refrigerator. You can't mess this recipe up!

Tasty Collard Greens

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
This is a perfect recipe for collard greens. I sprinkled pepper vinegar over them at the end instead of using crushed red pepper flakes. Absolutely delicious, and even my 11-year old son loved them!

New Year Black Eyed Peas

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
This is a good recipe, but like other reviewers, I only added half the water it called for and I think it was still too much. Not sure you need to add any water at all... I didn't add the pepperonicinis because I didn't want it to be too hot for my son. The flavors are great, just serve over rice with corn bread and collard greens!

Prime Rib Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
This takes a long time to cook so make sure you plan for it. It's a great way to use up leftover prime rib, and good flavors, but I felt like it needed some more vegetables in it to make it heartier.

Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce

This is fantastic - I make it all the time as a side dish. You don't need the butter - I make it without it to save on the calories.

Good recipe. I doubled the cream sauce as other reviewers suggested, and de-glazed the pan with some white wine. Served it with asparagus and parmesan noodles. Thanks!
