Pizza Crust I

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
Very pleased! Increased the servings to 17, as others had done, a split the recipe in two. Made exactly as written, except par-baked for 10 minutes, topped, and baked 10 minutes more. SUPER!

My Mom's Sausage & Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
Awesome! I am giving it 4 stars, only because I made some changes. I used sage sausage, lots of minced garlic and diced red onion. I omitted the soup mix, using low sodium chicken broth instead and added my own spices. I used one bag each of white and brown boil-in-bag rice. Just opened the bags and mixed with the browned sausage, broth, and spices, and stirred in chopped sweetened cranberries. I baked it for 45 minutes and it was perfect. I took this to a very picky and traditional Thanksgiving audience. They were dipping into it before dinner even started. It was the hit dish! Thanks for sharing this recipe, which easily lends itself to chages.

Garlic Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
I made this recipe for Thanksgiving. I got rave reviews, even from those who didn't think they liked brussel sprouts. This dish was completely emptied. Next time I do think I will add some chopped red onion, just because I love them. Thanks for sharing. I will definetly make these again!

Ornament Dough

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
This was the first time I ever attempted dough ornaments. I am glad I tried this recipe. I halved the ingredients and added a bunch of cinnamon and nutmeg. Between myself, my daughter and my hubby we made 24 ornaments. Most were ready at 30 minutes, some of the larger ones needed about 10 minutes more. This will definetly be a new family traditon. Thanks for sharing!!

Cheesy Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2008
Very good, simple supper. I added a can of cream of chicken as well, because I thought I needed it for the amount of chicken I was using, but it would have been fine without it. Also, I was out of croutons so I used stuffing mix. My hubby and three year old really enjoyed it. Will definetly make this again.

Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2008
Delicious! I gave it 4 stars insted of 5, because I made of few changes. I rinsed the black beans, used 1 can cream of chicken and 1 can chicken broth. I sauted some onion & garlic in the pot then added ingredients, also added some finely chopped baby spinach to sneak some extra vegetables into our diet. Very good and easy. Will definetly make this again. Thanks for sharing.

Brazilian White Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
I used half water/half chicken stock, the liquid never absorbed after the cooking time, so I just keep cooking and stirring until the rice was done. Tasted great. Will definetly try again. My guests loved it anyway.

Rosemary French Bread

I used my bread machine, which I got 7 years as a wedding gift, for the first time with this recipe. Turned out great. My guests were very impressed. Very flavorful. Thanks for sharing.

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
Fabulous. I gave it four stars only because I made slight chages. Used half mayo/half sour cream, added just a touch of finally chopped roasted red pepper. Brown the chicken slightly in a skillet first, and topped with Italian cheese blend the last few minutes of baking. It was out of this world. My guests raved. Thanks for sharing!

Quick and Easy Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2008
WOW! These turned out so yummy. I realized after getting started I only had 1 cup of white sugar, so I added 1 cup of brown sugar. Used only 1 cup of flour, as others had recommended. Only had one stick of butter, so I added a 1/2 cup of veg. oil. Also omitted nuts-added mini chocolate chips and toffee bits instead. Used a 9 x 13 pan, sprayed with Baker's Joy;cooked for 35 minutes. PERFECTION! These were by far the best brownies I have ever made.

Delicious-made only some minor changes. Substituted asparagus for the green beans, added black beans, and omitted celery-YUMMY! Everyone enjoyed it-even my husband who is not a fan of "marinated salads."

Hungarian Pork Chops

I am not a huge fan of pork chops-mostly because I tend to dry them out when cooking, but not with this recipe. We really enjoyed them served over whole wheat egg noodles. Thanks for sharing.

Italian Butter

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2008
I followed the recipe exactly,so I am not quite sure where I went wrong, but mine came out very bitter and would not stick to the French bread. My husband loves EVOO bread dip, so I will keep trying!

Rich Pasta for the Poor Kitchen

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2008
If you would have told me how flavorful this recipe tasted I would not have believed it. For such simple ingredients they pack a robust flavor. Used half butter/half EVOO, used rotini because thats what I had, and added chopped salami because my hubby doesnt consider it dinner if it does have some kind of meat. This was easy and delicious!
