Saucy Lima Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
These were great. I didnt measure my onion, just chopped some up. Also, I omitted the dill because we dont care for it. Delicious! I will certainly make these again!

Sherry Chicken Curry

Not sure what went wrong. I wanted to like this so badly, however the more I ate the less I liked it. Otherthan adding some brocolli I made exactly as written. I think I will keep looking. Thanks for sharing.

Bourbon-Mango Pulled Pork

Delicious! My mom asked me to find her something new and different to make for a family gathering. I gave her this recipe and man, I am glad I did. It was outstanding! Definetly something I will be making myself. Without a doubt, a 5 star recipe.

Cream Cheese Cookie Cups

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2009
I have made these twice in a week.Once for dinner guests, then again by request for a party. Fantastic! I add the powdered sugar to taste (much less than called for). Make sure the butter and cream cheese are nice and soft, for a smooth creamy filling. The possibilities are endless for this recipe. I want to try a chocolate cookie with a mint filling. I cant say enough good things about this recipe! Thank you!

Simply Divine Meat Loaf with Spinach

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2009
This was fantastic! I dont care for dried onion soup mix, so instead I used used California Style onion powder, Nature's Seasoning, and some diced onion. I used panko bread crumbs, because that is what I had on hand. I shaped into individual loaves, which cuts cooking time in half. I also topped with a slice of mozzarella the last few minutes of cooking. They were so delicious my 4 year old didnt even notice the spinach. Thanks for sharing. I will definetly be making this again.

Cheddar Biscuit Cups

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
I usually dont rate recipes when I make substantial changes, but I wanted to share. I seasoned (to taste, as always) with chives, onion powder, cracked black pepper then I added 1 egg to the mixture. I made in a mini muffin pan. They turned out great. Slightly chewy, very dense, not at all crumbly. I will make these again, since I always have the ingredients on hand.

French Toast Fingers

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
Yum! I've never had much success with French Toast, until now! I added some cinnamon and a splash of vanilla to the egg mixture. I used light cream cheese and a bit of honey for the filling. Very good.My 4 year old loved them. I can't wait to make them for my hubby this weekend. Thanks for a great recipe Mavis!

Three Cheese Baked Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2009
Having made a few substitutions, this is a pretty good dish. I used Wacky Mac vegetable spirals, ground turkey-seasoned to taste, garlic and herb spaghetti sauce, and added a chopped zuke to the meat sauce. Since there is only 3 of us, I divided the recipe between two 8x8 pans. Definetly a plus, I can get 2 dinners from one batch. Im sure I will make this again.

Chicken Ranch Enchiladas

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
Very good. I did season the chicken breast with onion powder, Morton's Nature's Seasoning, and salt. I cooked whole then shredded when cooled. It makes a lot of sauce, but thats no big deal. Family really enjoyed these. Very easy. I will make these again. Thanks for sharing!

Whole Wheat and Honey Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2009
This was pretty good. Didn't have the wheat germ, but subbed for whole wheat flour and it turned out well. I halved the recipe and plan to make breadsticks with the leftovers. Pre baked before topping. I think I need practice to perfect this recipe, but I will try again.

Easy Sugar Cookies

YUM! Just made these with my daughter. Quick, easy, delicious. I had everything on hand. I checked them at 8 minutes and they seemed very pale, so I took them out at ten. Next time I will take them out at 8 minutes. Otherwise, very good. Thanks for sharing!

Pap

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
My first attempt I followed the recipe exactly and the stuffed bubbled up all over my microwave, but I tried again. It turned out thicker than I expected, so I thinned with a little more milk. Pretty good, of course my little one loved it. Served with Whole Wheat Honey Bread and sliced strawberries. I may make again, but not for awhile. Thanks for sharing.

Honey Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
At the suggestions of others I did the following alterations...2 c whole wheat flour, 1 c bread flour, 3/4 tsp salt, and 1/4 cup of honey. This was my first whole wheat bread and I am very pleased with the results. Crust is a tad thick for my toddler, but I usually cut the crusts of anyway, so no biggie. If you are looking to try a whole wheat bread, I highly recommend this one. Thanks Kathy!

No Bake Lime Mousse Torte

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
OMG! Thanks for sharing this recipe. The gingersnaps made it! My husband asked that next time I double the crust so it would be thicker. And my four year old asked that I not put grass in the pie (the lime zest). It was wonderful. The only thing I changed was to increase the white chocolate to 12 oz and the lime juice to a little more than a cup. Light and refreshing, but I couldn't taste the white chocolate at all, so next time I probably just leave that out. Thanks for sharing.

Three Cheese Green Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
I really enjoyed this, my mom loved it! However, I did make some changes which is why I gave it 4 stars. Like others, I agree the dressing proportions were off. I cut the pepper down alot and only made half the dressing, which was the perfect amount. Subbed Monteray Jack for swiss, because thats what I had. Also added some thinly sliced red onion and green apple. YUM! Quick and refreshing. I will make this again. Thanks for sharing.

Grilled Thai Tenderloin Cutlets

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2009
Yummy! I used thin chops and pounded them so they were really thin. Served on seasame buns with lettuce (hubs doesn't like cucumbers), a sauce of mayo, mint, and garlic powder and topped with Trader Joe's Sweet Chili Sauce. Very nice. Will definetly make this again!
