Cooked Pumpkin

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2011
Cooked the pumpkin well, only problem is that it wasnt near done after an hour in the oven and the pumpkin I used was quite small. It took about 90 minutes at 325 degrees F. Thank you for the process, I had no idea how to cook a pumpkin before I found your recipe!

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2010
Best peanut butter cookie recipe ever. Ive tried 3 other recipes from this sight but this one exceeded all of them. I did add 1/4 cup more flour and had to use half shortening since I only had half cup of butter on hand. Thank you for the recipe, my whole family enjoyed these cookies immensely

Fluffy French Toast

Husband loved this! I usually make french toast with eggs and vanilla but this recipe that adds flour totally made our breakfast taste like restaurant quality! Thanks for the recipe, I will never go back to my old ways!

Blueberry Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2010
I really like the idea of this recipe! Simple! I made blueberry sauce for the filling. Honestly, that's the only thing that gave this dessert any flavor. It was not very sweet (even though the sauce had PLENTY of sugar) and kind of bland. I will definitely make this again but with more sugar in the batter and maybe some vanilla or some other extract to liven in up. I did add cinnamon to the batter because I didnt have allspice on hand, didnt do much.

Oven Fried Chicken IV

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2010
Good chicken, mixed seasoning in with the sour cream and used bread crumbs since thats what I had on hand. My only complaint is that it took much longer to cook than stated. I had to put the drumsticks back in the oven after we had all sat down to eat. In all, it took about 1.5 hrs to bake at 350 degrees F. Maybe it was because of all the coating? Thanks for the recipe, but I still prefer mayo to the sour cream.

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: May 7, 2010
Best caramel corn ever. Reminds of going to the fair as a child and getting a big cup of warm caramel corn and eating it with a spoon. I reduced the butter to 1/2 cup. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly. I mixed the popcorn and caramel in a large paper bag to reduce on dishes. Worked like a charm. I also kept the popped corn warm in the oven at 250 until it was time to mix with the caramel. I baked it in the oven as stated but found out its actually not necessary. The amount I left out to eat warm hardened perfectly on its own. Next time I will skip the baking altogether. Thank you for such an easy and wonderful recipe. My 5 children went gaga over it! I'm going to have to make more tonight if we're going to make it through the weekend! Superb!

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2010
I made this for St Patricks Day. My kids loved it! Each had thirds. I like the scone quality of this bread. I did have a problem with the middle getting done before the outside crust started getting too dark. Next time I'll flatten it more to see if it makes a difference. Thanks for the super easy recipe.

Old Fashioned Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
Wonderful tasting soft cut out cookie! I did have a little trouble with rolling and cutting, the dough definitely needs to be chilled in between batches. The husband and kids loved them, they made halloween cut outs and decorated with frosting and sprinkles. Very good recipe!

Easy Pistachio English Toffee Ice Box Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
WONDERFUL!!!! This is a very old family tradition! We do it a little differently by putting the pudding on the cake then covering the pudding with the whipped topping. The crushed heath bars are a must! Someone said they didnt know what they were for....well, they're for texture, crunch and flavor. It's like asking what the chocolate chips are for in a cookie! Because they make it better! Thank you for sharing this recipe, my grandmother use to make this at every family festivity.

Chicken Lasagna IV

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
Very rich but very good recipe. I sauteed the onions with the chicken and added some minced garlic. Other than that I followed the recipe to a T. I would like to find a way to alter this to not be so rich. My 5 year old gobbled it up but my 3 year old wasnt fooled into thinking it was "regular" lasagna. Thanks for the recipe!

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
Good base, left out a package of cream cheese and added about half cup of sourcream instead. Glad I did otherwise the soup would have been so rich there's no way it would have been suitable for as a main dish, great as a starter though. Thank you for the recipe!

Wonderful, fantastic, spectacular! Best pie I've ever had by far and that's saying alot due to my loyalty to my family's recipes. I followed the recipe exactly except I made a leaf cut out top crust instead of the lattice. It was gorgeous and delicious!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2008
They were ok but way too greasy. I greased the pan as it said to do in the instructions but I honestly think I shouldn't have. The bars were falling apart because of the amount of butter so I refrigerated them to solidify them up a bit.
