Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2013
This was absolutely delicious! so thick and rich with lots of veggies. The only change I made was using dried herbs. thats only because its January in Michigan and fresh herbs are not too plentiful. Otherwise, wouldnt change a thing!

Irresistible Double Chocolate Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2012
This was absolutely delicious! I usually dont care for chocolate muffins. Most sweet muffins taste like greasy cake to me. But this was totally different not greasy at all with the perfect amount of sweet! I made this exactly as the recipes states and it came out perfect. It also made exactly as many muffins as the recipe states. Thank you!!!

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2011
Absolutely delicious! The only change made I made was I substitued 1/2c whole wheat flour for bread flour as I prefer whole wheat bread. I might try more next time. But otherwise this was great, nice and flavorful-not overpowering. It went perfect with my homemade chicken noodle soup. Thanks!!

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2011
These were an excellent cookie. I made half a batch (just 2 of us eating cookies here) and it was so easy. The only subtitution I made was i was out of baking soda. (of course I didnt notice until I had all the other ingredients together) I used double the baking powder and omitted the salt and they came out great! Thank you!

Moo Goo Gai Pan II

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
I did not enjoy this. I had really high hopes as the list of ingredients looked wonderful. The only thing I changed was the veggies. I used carrots and left out bok choy and waterchestnuts. This had absolutely no flavor. I even reread the recipe to make sure I hadnt missed anything. Not sure what went wrong. When I first read the reviews I thought the people who said this had no taste must not have ever had Moo Goo Gai Pan because it is a very mild tasting dish but this is tasteless. oh well! ill keep looking.

Minestrone Soup I

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2010
This was excellent! The only change I made was using 2T olive oil instead of the margarine. I loved the broth, next time I will only add half the macaroni noodles so it is a little more brothy (is that even a word ?!?) Thanks for the recipe!

Dilly Onion Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2010
This is exceptional! I have made it a quite a few times now. the only thing I change is I just add milk instead of water and milk powder. This makes an excellent grilled cheese sandwich!!! I serve with super simple tomato basil soup (recipe this site) and its always a hit! Thank you!

Super Simple Basil Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
Delicious! This was so easy but tasted like I spent all day working on it. The only change I made was I used stewed tomatoes as that is what I had on hand. Made it with gouda/cheddar grilled cheese on onion dill bread (recipe also from this site) it was awesome!

Roxie's Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2010
This is an excellent recipe! Not at all a "greasy" muffin. I probably make this a couple times a month. (We love muffins for breakfast here!) The only change I usually make is oil in place of the butter and I use 2 bananas instead of a banana and an apple. (Shredding apples is a lot of work in the morning!) Thank you!

Green Green Pasta

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
This was a very pretty dish. I really enjoyed the simplicity of the flavors. A little salt and pepper did wonders. I didn't add the broccoli (seemed like it had enough veggies) I also used dried basil and whole wheat pasta. Both seemed to work just fine. Definately a keeper!

Beans, Greens and Garlic Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
This was an easy and delicious soup! I used green onion which was great. I also used whole wheat pasta. I threw in a sliced carrot for color and it ended up a very pretty soup. I will definately make this in the future!

Blueberry Scones

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
Delicious! I did have to add a little flour to shape the dough. I also used 2% milk. I added some lemon juice to the milk for flavor then realized I had made buttermilk. oh well. they turned out excellent. Had them with some scrambled eggs and a cup of coffee! Excellent breakfast!

Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
This is ok. I did make a few changes. I used english muffins (1 & 1/2) I did toast them first (as per others suggestions) and I didn't add any meat. I had to cook at 375 degrees and it was still a very soft casserole. I think it is a pretty healthy easy breakfast (I ate with fresh fruit salad) but it is not something I would cook for a special occasion or company.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2008
Excellent! So easy to follow. I did add pecans (what I had on hand for nuts) the cinnamon topping really adds something to this recipe. I did end up with 12 muffins and a little batter left over. Maybe my muffin tins are smaller but I thought they were standard size. Oh well, just more to enjoy!

Black Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2008
Excellent! I made half the recipe. Which worked out perfectly. Only two of us in the house. I made it in a loaf pan (couldn't find my round) I had too cook it a little longer, about 45 min because of the pan shape but it came out great. I sprinkled a little powdered sugar on top and it was beautiful! Very easy to slice and very moist. I will definately make this again!

Savory Deviled Eggs

Very very good. I was a little worried that these would be "too different" for a traditional thanksgiving dinner but these were just perfect. Just a little change from the traditional, everyone enjoyed them. Thank for the recipe!!

Creamy Spiced Coleslaw

Way too much mayonnaise! That was all I could taste. I tried this recipe again and cut mayo in half and added extra of the other ingredients. (except cabbage) Much better!
