Greek Avgolemono Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
This soup had a very unique taste! I found it difficult to skim all the chicken fat, and for that reason I think my soup had too much of an "oily" texture. I loved the lemon taste though, and will definitely make this again! I served this at a staff meeting and those brave enough to try something new really enjoyed it!

I made this for some friends during a movie night and now they insist on it every week. A tasty and simple treat!

Pretzel Salad I

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2007
The oil does not absorb as much as I wished, but it is a tasty spin on pretzels. My guests admitted that they didn't like pretzels until they had them this way. I will make this again and had many ask for the recipe.

Broccoli-Cheese Corn Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2009
Delicious! I usually serve corn bread to compliment breakfast, but the cheese, onions, and broccoli make this a treat for lunch or supper time. I did as the other reviewer suggested and made these in a muffin tin. Instead of the cheddar I used Tex Mex Nacho 3 Cheese blend. Very nice! Thanks for this recipe!

Mexican Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
This was a delicious side dish. It had the right amount of flavour but was not too spicy. The recipe made quite a lot but it didn't matter because my guests just kept on eating it! Thank you for submitting this recipe. It is one of my favourites.

This was fantastic and so simple! I also liked it with a dressing of lemon juice, extra virgin olive oil and minced garlic.

Japanese Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2011
I followed a reviewer and did not fry these before baking them. Afterwards I read that frying first will help keep the coating on them, and prevent them from sticking. I baked mine at 400 for 25 minutes (after coating them in egg & flour) then I put the sauce on and baked them at 350 for the rest of the time. The result was a burnt & smoky mess. My wings stuck so badly to the pan even though I had sprayed PAM and the sauce was burned. My husband still ate them (God bless him!) and through the burnt sauce I could tell that had I not burned them they would have been great! I had to throw away my pan! I would like to try these again and fry them first.

Jenny's Black Forest Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2011
I made this for a friend's birthday party that was held at our local pool hall. I didn't have any myself (because I added the Kirsch) but the cake was visually stunning. Acquaintances who were also at the pool hall approached our table and asked me for a piece of cake! I iced the cake with real whipped cream, chocolate fudge pudding, and the cherry mixture. (I also put the pudding on each of the layers-I had 4) I got rave reviews and people couldn't believe it was my first time making black forest cake.

Tomato Apple Soup (Tomapple Soup)

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2010
Just okay. I thought the apple flavour would be more evident. In the end it just seemed like more work for a soup that was just okay.

Buttery Cooked Carrots

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2010
I should've listened to the other reviewers and drained all the water. I only drained half, and it was still way too runny. I will try this again, with all the water drained next time. Maybe that will help the glaze sticka little better.

Delicious! I did have a substantial amount of the meat sauce left over though. I just froze it and used it for spaghetti. A great recipe!
