Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: May 21, 2012
Great, easy comfort food! I threw in a small bag of baby carrots and a couple hours before it was done I added in some sliced fresh mushrooms. Served this with some mashed potatoes and turned out so yummy!! The gravy it makes is soooo good. Will definitely make this one again!

Pat's Potato Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2012
This turned out fantastic! I used half the sugar as others advised and I also added celery and a few hard boiled eggs.. I forgot to pick up the parsley but I will try it with it next time. Next time I think I will use half the mustard powder (turned out pretty zingy) and will use green onion instead, if your red onion is strong it will way overpower the salad so I would add a little bit at a time, I ended up sifting through and trying to pick some out, unfortunately my red onion was a bit too strong. Great base recipe that you can throw in any favourite additions you might have.

Made this recipe as written - bought just the cheap frozen ravioli's, and this recipe was fantastic! Great vegetarian recipe! Even my meat eating husband didn't miss the meat in this dish.

Green Beans Amandine

Did not add the seasoned salt or lemon juice but these turned out so yummy! If you brown the butter & almonds it gives off this wonderful nutty flavour. Super easy recipe - will definitely make again!

Molasses Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2012
These turned out delicious however mine cooked much faster than the recipe suggested. I think in the end about 5 mins was accurate - when you take them out of the oven they almost seem raw and super soft to take off the pan however they really harden up after coming out of the oven. Great recipe though - will be making these again for sure! They also freeze well and stay nice a and chewy.

Date-Filled Sandwich Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2012
I made these exactly as the recipe is written and they turned out fantastic! Only thing was I found they didn't take as long in the oven as the recipe suggested. However the first batch I overcooked seemed to soften up a bit after being stored. Keep them in an air tight container to keep them nice and soft. These freeze well too. This recipe is definitely a keeper!

Vegetarian Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
This is so yum! I made this to go with Christmas dinner and it turned out amazing! The non-vegetarians at the table didn't think it was a veg gravy and I even got asked for the recipe! I did sub butter instead of the oil and did not add the yeast. This will certainly curb my gravy cravings! Could almost pass as a beef gravy! I think next time I might try to add some sautéed mushrooms to it - I think it would be a nice addition. Or maybe use it as a base for a vegetarian stew. This will be a staple around here now :)

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
I LOVE this soup! I have made this numerous times and have made some adjustments. I have made it with skim milk as well as 2% and turns out nice and creamy either way. I use closer to a cup of celery, omit the ham and use veggie bouillon (I am a recent vegetarian), and also add about a cup of sliced carrots and at the end I add a sprinkling of garlic powder and about a cup or so of grated cheddar. Don't get me wrong the original recipe is great! But these little extras are awesome :) This soup is so quick and easy and makes amazing leftovers.

Quiche Supreme

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
This turned out good, unfortunately the Tenderflake crust went soggy on the bottom :( (to no fault of the recipe) I used fresh mushrooms and extra bell pepper which maybe the juices from the veggies made the crust soggy? Otherwise the filling was really yummy. Mine took about 1.5hrs to cook through and get a nice light brown top. Will probably try this again and experiment with different veggies & cheeses. I also used 5% cream to try and cut down on some of the calories & fat.

Vegetarian Jambalaya

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2011
This recipe turned out great! I doubled the garlic, cayenne and chili powder as other suggested but I baked it with raw rice as the recipe calls for, I used a whole grain & wild mixture, it took about an hour and a half to cook the rice through, and wow delish! I think next time I'm going to add some black beans and maybe some corn. Definitely seems like one of those recipes you could throw any veggies into. Was really yummy with the fresh tomatoes. I topped then witg the sour cream and parm. Can't wait to try the leftovers wrapped in a burrito with cheese for lunch tomorrow! Will definitely be making this one again. Great vegetarian supper :)

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
By far the best sugar cookie recipe ever! These turn out so nice and soft and amazing! I topped mine with the "Sugar Cookie Icing" recipe on this site and topped some with crushed candy cane and some with sprinkles. The candy cane ones were a huge hit - I don't want to wait until Christmas to make them again! Love.this.recipe!

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
These turned out yummy, made them with Cherry Chip cake mix and vanilla icing and dipped in melted chocolate wafers. Great flavour combination! My hubby didn't like them much, this was our first time having a cake ball/cake pop and we found the texture kinda weird. I kinda got used to it though - because the flavour was awesome. I brought a bunch to work and they absolutely loved them!

Waffles I

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2011
These turned out so yummy! I doubled the sugar and vanilla as many suggested and they were really good! I love this recipe because it doesn't use buttermilk which I never have on hand, and when I buy it specifically for waffles I can only find it in the 1L containers and end up wasting most of the container because I do not use buttermilk for anything else. Now I will probably make waffles more often since I always have all of these ingredients in the house. I topped half of my waffle with real maple syrup and the other half with real whipped cream and some fresh strawberries, yum! I reheated one in the toaster at work the next day and it squished a little but turned out crispy and yummy! Thanks for the great recipe!

Zucchini Patties

Tried these for supper tonight, followed the recipe as written. Hubby didn't really care for them but I enjoyed them. I dipped them in a fresh salsa which I thought went really good with them. Paired with some steamed carrots and a fresh oil & vinegar salad and it made a great vegetarian meal.

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

This recipe turned out great! I took a small Chicken and quartered it, used the fresh rosemary but used dried oregano. I didn't measure any of my spicing or the oil but the seasoning can definitely be adjusted to your liking. Great for a quick yummy weeknight supper :)

Pumpkin Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
Wow this recipe is fantastic!! Only changes I made was using some apple sauce instead of all of the oil as many people have suggested. I made it in a bundt pan and it took about an hour in the oven. During the last 20 mins I checked it about every 5 minutes. I topped it with a brown sugar cream cheese icing and wow amazing. Everyone raved about it at Thanksgiving dinner. Even my father in law who doesn't care much for desserts or sweets asked to take a piece home! So moist and delish - I will def be making this again!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2011
Wow these turned out amazing! I love how thick and soft they end up!! Only thing was I didn't add the nuts and used one cup on semi-sweet chips, one cup of milk and white chocolate swirl chips and about half a cup of butterscotch chips. Just sorta threw in what I had on hand and they are amazing! Mine took about 13 mins in the oven and made about 20 large cookies.
