About this Cook
Right now Im an at home mom, whos trying to enter back into the work world.im happily married to my best friend, and I have 2 boys.Around here theres hardly any places to eat out so I cook a lot.i get creative and my husband does not mind being a crah test dummy for me.I try to make the traditional things I grew up on more healthy.Sometimes it works and sometimes we eat fried chicken!
My favorite things to cook
Im a very southern cook.I make awesome greens and black eyed peas! I make whimsical desserts too.Its some of this and some of that and its yummy!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making biscuts with my Memaw is my favorite tradition.Since the new baby my 6 year old has taken over making them with her.I have pictures from him being 2 years old making them with her.And Im old enough now to be privy to her dressin recipe.
My cooking triumphs
When I was 17 my parents seperated. That Thanksgiving I needed some normalcy,so I inivted my Dad home for the day and I made a turkey and all the fixin's! TO this day my mom still says it was a stressful day but the best Turkey shes ever had!
My cooking tragedies
The first time I made sausage gravy it was so bad the dog wouldnt eat it! My brother and then boyfriend ate it like champs, but when I sat down I was ready to vomit! It was paste with chunks of sausage in it!

Broccoli Rice Casserole
This was ok.I had to scale it way down.I used instant brown rice,98% fat free cream of celery soup(so I did not ad extra celery} and about 6 oz of velveeta.we didnt really care for it.

No Bake Cookies V
My 6 year old is licking the iron skillet as I write. My friends' ex-husband used to make these for me everytime I'd go to their house.Every time Ive ever atempted them they are gloppy and never set,I had been using margerine though.TOnight I used butter and it works to set them.and i prefer creamy peanut butter so i used that instead of crunchy.YUMMY!!!
