Hearty Meatball Sandwich

Reviewed: May 27, 2008
My family enjoyed these sandwiches very much. I did add an egg to the recipe and some parmesean cheese, but otherwise didn't change a thing. Meatball sandwiches can be a little messy at times and this one really solves that problem.

Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2014
My first giant cookie and it turned out wonderful! As others have mentioned, this cookie does spread so I did follow their advice and did not spread to the edge of the pan. I did, however, follow the recipe exactly except for walnuts. I decorated with store-bought frosting because I was very short on time. Next time, I will make my own though. The cookie was very moist and delicious....tasted better than the mall cookies for sure!

Cranberry Orange Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
I made these cookies for the first time this weekend following the recipe exactly. I used my food processor to chop the cranberries. Based on other reviews, I decided to try a cookie before frosting them and decided to just put a drizzle of the frosting on them instead of frosting the whole top of the cookie by putting the glaze in a plastic sandwich bag and then I cut a little piece off the corner of the bag....worked perfectly. I'll definitely be adding this cookie to my recipe list every year!

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: May 4, 2009
I followed this recipe with the exception of using 2 cans of the reduced fat/sodium cream of chicken soup and adding some sliced sauteed onions. Our family did not find it too salty at all and we enjoyed the meal very much with some mashed potatoes, green beans and dinner rolls. I will definitely be making this recipe again in the future.

Oven Roasted Parmesan Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2014
Our potatoes were delicious and we enjoyed them very much! I used the exact measurements of the cheese and seasonings but did have to use russet potatoes because that is all I had. I do believe they would have been even better with the red potatoes. I put all of my seasonings in the bowl, mixed that up, then I added the cut potatoes on top of that, drizzled the oil over top of the potatoes and mixed everything up. Potatoes were coated just fine with the amount of cheese & seasonings that I'd measured out. I placed the potatoes on a sheet tray lined with parchment paper and turned them over after 15 minutes. I will add that my oven has a convection feature that I did turn on and my potatoes were perfectly brown & crispy after about 30 minutes. I will not hesitate to make these again.

Classic Tiramisu

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
I can't tell you how long my Mother has been bugging me to make her Tiramisu and I've always told her no, that it would be too hard to make. Was I wrong! This recipe is wonderful and not so hard to make after all. I did find the soft lady fingers at Wegmans and didn't have to split them in half as they are already split. I used a mix of coffee liquor and some of our morning coffee that I had saved (although I did forget to brush the 2nd layer of lady fingers). I also used the mascarpone substitute from this site. It was wonderful and a big hit with my family, my Mother especially! Needless to say, she got to keep the leftovers :-)

Butterfinger Chunkies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
I made these today hoping they would be a good addition to my cookie tray this Christmas. They are a really good cookie and it's a good thing they will be going in the freezer until Christmas or they would all be gone by then! I followed the recipe exactly and ended up adding about 1/4 cup additional flour because the dough just seemed a little wet to me. I rolled the cookies into balls with my hands. I did not grease my cookie sheets as instructed. I did not have a problem with my cookies spreading too much and I let them cool on the cookie sheets 2-3 minutes before attempting to move them to a rack to finish cooling. I ended up with about 4-1/2 dozen cookies. Not sure how you would end up with only 2 dozen unless you make really big cookies :-)

Sparkling Holiday Jam

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
Very easy recipe to follow and I hadn't made any kind of jelly/jam since I was in Home Economics class in high school so I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out. I did use frozen strawberries in place of the fresh and used fresh cranberries. I gave jars away to family and girls in the office at Christmas.

Crispy Fish Fillets

Great little recipe! I made as written except used cod because that's what kind of fish I had. It was nice and crispy. I'll definitely make this recipe again and again.

Broccoli and Sausage Cavatelli

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2008
This is a great recipe. I used a hot italian sausage, casing removed, and did not add the additional red pepper flakes as the sausage was very spicy itself. I also used fresh broccoli. This is a wonderful, quick, weeknight meal!

Super Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
I made this Christmas Eve and then warmed up for our annual Christmas morning breakfast. I think it was even better the next day. I scaled the recipe for 6, but left the sausage at 1 lb. Let me just say that this was a big hit and it's now going to be a permanent in my recipe box!

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2008
Loved this pizza! I did substitute ranch dressing for the bleu cheese dressing as my family doesn't care for bleu cheese and did not use the whole bottle as others suggested. I also used 1/2 sharp cheddar for the cheese as suggested. I will be making this again for sure.

Make-Ahead Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
I made these potatoes for Easter Dinner and we really enjoyed them. I did cut the recipe in half because there were only four of us, and had plenty for leftovers. This will be my new go-to mashed potato recipe for big holiday dinners. Definitely cuts my time in the kitchen on the day of the big meal.

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2008
My husband and I both really enjoyed this receipe. He went back for seconds...that means it's a keeper! I did double the sauce ingredients and used uncooked shrimp. I did first stir-fry a bag of Wegmans stir-fry fresh vegetables with the garlic and oil and then added the uncooked shrimp, cooking for a minute or so. I added the sauce mixture and let the shrimp finish cooking with the sauce as it thickened.
