Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2014
This reminds me of the old Toll House Recipe cookies! I know they have a recipe on the back of their chocolate chips, but it seems somehow things changed through the years, and they just don't taste like I made them as a kid. THESE are WONDERFUL! Only thing I changed was because of the price of brown sugar, I subbed half white. And used butter flavored Crisco sticks. Thanks for sharing!

Poppy Seed Bread III

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2013
I LOVE THIS! I didn't have poppyseed because it is so fricking expensive, so I got one of those little jars of poppyseed filling you use for cookies, and used the whole thing. I had to bake it like 15 minutes longer. Otherwise, I made it just like the recipe said to, and with the glaze, WOW! Thanks so much for sharing your recipe!

Alphabet Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2013
I LOVED THIS!! And I am a person that only likes Campbells! I made it with the regular V-8, only because I thought I picked up the spicy, and when I got home, oops.. :)...I wished I had had alphabet noodles...our stores don't carry it. :( So I put in quinoa, and it was very good! Still going to look for the alphabet though. Other than that, I followed the instructions to a T. I think the broth tasted just like Campbells Alphabet Soup! And I am VERY picky on my soups. Thank you for putting this recipe in! It sure is a keeper!

Teriyaki Sauce and Marinade

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2012
THIS is the BESTEST teriyaki marinade I EVER ate! I basically used your recipe...but ....I only had 1/3 cup of regular soy sauce left, and used just that...and didn't have fresh ginger, so I used a tablespoon of ground..and didn't have red pepper flakes (can't find that at the store), so used a dash of Italian blend seasoning I had...and used sherry (not cooking sherry...the real stuff)....and WOW...this is awesome! My son went NUTS with this on grilled chicken! I am going to make this and marinate the skewed beef you get as appetizers at chinese restaurants...I don't think I need to find another teriyaki marinade recipe ever again! Although, I will still try to find just red pepper flakes and use the normal soy sauce next time...I don't use fresh ginger since I don't use it much and it would spoil. Thanks SOOOO MUCH!

Lemon Basmati Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2012
This is awesome stuff! Alright...I DID change a few things...I HATE doing that on a recipe I just try for the first time...but...I used peanut oil instead of canola...why, I don't know...was curious..:)...and I didn't have fresh ginger (it would spoil before I used it all) so I used a tablespoon of ground, and I didn't have a lemon, so I used 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and one tablespoon of lemon peel (zest)....and WOW guys...this dish turned out extraordinary!!! My son was duly impressed as well! This is a keeper fer sure! THANKS LOADS!

Grandmother's Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2012
FINALLY an oatmeal raisin cookie that is soft and chewy without having to fiddle with my oven and timer! This basic recipe is a tad unusual to me because of more eggs and flour and less oats. Except for using a half teaspoon more of vanilla (which is my preference..not to bash the cook here that shared this recipe) and didn't refrigerate the eggs/vanilla/raisins, I followed the ingredient amounts. I did however, change what I did AFTER I mixed it up. In other words, I basically treated this recipe as I would the recipe on the oatmeal box but using the amount of ingredients in this recipe here and not refrigerating anything. I also hate rolling balls, so I just dropped by teaspoons onto the greased baking sheet. To me, having a perfect oatmeal cookie isn't a perfectly round cookie..but rather, odd shapes after dropping it. :) Been making cookies since I was 8, and I am now 61...so I am used to cookies not uniform except peanut butter cookies. :) ANYWAY, this cookie turned out soooo yummy...chewy in the middle and crunchier on the outside, which to me is a perfect oatmeal raisin cookie. THIS cookie is a DEFINITE KEEPER!!! Thank you for sharing! I bow down to you :)

Lemony Shrimp over Brown Rice

Reviewed: May 9, 2012
I tried this tonite, and OMG!!!! It was WONDERFULLY YUMMY!! I followed the directions but took heed on a couple reviewers...I also like a more soupy sauce, so I added 1 1/2 cups of chicken broth (used that instead of the wine). I had to stop eating so I could have seconds tomorrow! Thanks so much for sharing your recipe...it is a DEFINITE keeper!! :)

Shrimp Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2012
WOW! I gotta say, this is the best shrimp fried rice I have ever had! I did follow one review, and added 1 tsp. of sesame oil instead of 1/4 tsp, and my shrimp was pre-cooked, which I then added at the last 4 minutes with the oil/onion/etc mixture. I doubled the rice, and made it the day before as suggested by members. When I served it, I sprinkled chow mein noodles on top. And THIS is a KEEPER recipe! Thanks so much!

Microwave Oven Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2011
I wish I had this recipe years ago! It is so simple and sooooo yummy! Just like what I have made in the past by stirring and stirring, but with almost no effort! I did take the idea of lining the pan with foil, and it was a charm! And I also doubled the recipe and put it in a bigger glass bowl. I will be making THIS alot! Thanks for sharing!

Blueberry Vodka Martinis

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2011
I made this and WOW! It turned out GREAT! Used 100% vodka, and it is pretty potent but gooood! To make it less potent (making it not a martini anymore), I tried ginger ale, and it was so good, I am going to drink it like that from now on! Thanks for the recipe!

Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
This was a super simple recipe! But like some others, I changed it just a tad. I used a quart of fresh blueberries, and soaked them too (like another gal did) awhile. and I put a crumbly topping on top before baking, consisting of 1/3 c. margerine, 1/2 c. brown sugar, and 3/4 c. flour, crumbling it with a pastry blender. It turned out excellent! Thanks for the recipe!

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2007
Excellent! Will make it again! Put garlic powder and paprika and minced onion also. I think I will try boneless breasts though, since it took too long to fry legs. I shoulda listened to myself, because I should have boiled the legs a little first. Done that before, especially with wings, and it works out great! Love the flavor of this recipe.
