About this Cook
I am a Christian, wife, mother, & pharmacist. My husband is a pastor so I get to share him with many wonderful people! I work full time and miss my son terribly when he is at daycare! I have 2 bird-dogs (Maci & Rowdy) and 2 cats that don't like each other (Jimi & Sadie).
My favorite things to cook
Anything that tastes great is my favorite thing to cook. I find baking enjoyable. I also enjoy cooking anything that is relatively simple.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Frosted sugar cookies at Christmas time. Sunday brunch at Grandma's house after church & Sunday school.
My cooking triumphs
Pork medallions with orange sauce from the "Everyday Food" show on PBS. YUM!
My cooking tragedies
When I was dating my husband we tried to make stuffed manicotti. We had NO idea how to drain frozen spinach so our manicotti ended up tasting like dirt (literally) and we threw the whole 9x13 pan away!

Left Bank Apple Salad
This was easy to make but I didn't find it all too flavorful. I think if the nuts were candied it would be better.

Sun-Dried Tomato Hummus
This was my first try at hummus and it didn't turn out too great. It either had too much garlic (I used what the recipe stated) or my garlic was bad? The consistency was too thick and the taste just wasn't very good. I'm not sure I'll make this again.

Banana Banana Bread
This was my first ever attempt at banana bread and it turned out great! Like some other reviewers I made jumbo muffins, added cinnamon (1 tsp - could've used more) and a splash of almond extract (I didn't have vanilla on hand but I will use vanilla next time). My husband who has won blue ribbons at some county fairs for his banana bread thought mine was pretty good. I liked how easy it was and that the ingredients were simple.
