Old-Fashioned Vanilla Pudding

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2010
This dessert is simple and wonderful. I didn't have any vanilla extract but did have a vanilla bean that I scraped added the vanilla paste and the actual pod to the milk mixture as it was heating...I removed the pods during the cooling period. The pudding has little felcks of brown in it from the vanilla paste but the flavour it doesn't get anymore authentic than that. As per other viewers I topped with toasted coconut and banana chips and you have a special dessert. Thank you for sharing Katie

Wonderful recipe...simmered on top of the stove for 4 hrs. Used Herb de Provence (available in any grocery store) and of course a little bit of red wine. What a treat...the house smelled so welcoming.

Very tasty and economical. Just use your imagination...the possibilities are endless. I added fried and crumbled pancetta and feta cheese. Great for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Basic Baked Spaghetti

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2008
This was a very good recipe. I don't understand why people like Mama2bearcubs completely reinvents the recipe and then gives it a thumbs up. If you completely change the recipe then give it a new name....and call it your own.

Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
Lovely soup on a cold winter nite. The only thing I did different was use pureed tomatoes instead of chunky ones. I did use a few flakes of chili pepper for a little zing and some fresh minced parsley for a fresh, bright colour. Very healthy and hearty.

The ranch dressing gave it an odd greasy sauce when baked...I, including my family did not enjoy it.

Spicy Beef Curry Stew for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2007
This was very tasty. I dredged the beef in seasoned flour prior to putting it in the crock pot...this made for a thicker sauce. I also added a pinch of cinnamon and some chopped coriander at the end. Rave reviews from hubby and my six year old.
