Italian Bread Using a Bread Machine

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2007
This is a great recipe. My son and husband loved it. In fact, my son had it toasted this morning for breakfast and it is just as good today as it was yesterday. The only thing I did different was instead of making two loaves, I just made it into one big loaf. I had to bake it alittle longer because I like my bread browner that what the recipes called for. This is a keeper!!!!!!!

Never Fail Pie Crust I

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2008
I love this recipe...It is my go to pie crust recipe.... I refrigerated my shortening before cutting it into my flour mixture...depending on humidity levels I either used or omitted the 1/2 tbsp water. Other than that this is a keeper...

Spoiled Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: May 31, 2011
I made these ribs for our Memorial Day dinner. These are by far the best ribs I have ever made. My thirteeen year rib coniseur gave them thumbs up and a A plus:). He told me keep this recipe in your folder, they are AWESOME!!!!! The only changes that I made was I omitted the liquid smoke flavoring, I am not a big fan of it, instead I added dark brown sugar intead of light brown sugar which gives a slightly molasses taste. I thought the change was a good one. And I also after boiling them I grilled them as another reveiwer did. Our new grill that we got has a barbaque setting so that really did a nice job. Thanks for a great recipe my husband who isn't a big rib fan had a second helping and said "These are really good I don't mind if you make these again. I served my ribs w/ broccoli slaw and sweet potatoe fries YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!:)

Sweet Corn Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2013
After reading several reviews,I was concern about the consistencey of the batter. I said what the heck I'm gonna make it. Turns out this batter was beautiful and creamy.Don't hesitate to make this and it needs no changes at all. I made mine in a 8 inch square metal baking pan. I use this recipe when I make chili and just last night meatball stew. My huband and son scarf it up when I make it.I laugh when ppl. revamp a recipe and then give it 5 stars to their changes. This one needs nothing changed at all.It is a five star just the way it is. Thx bookwurm70 for a great recipe!!!! DELISH : )

Traditional Mexican Guacamole

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2013
I was looking for a guacamole recipe for my avacados I bought. I saw this recipe and knew I had to try it. It is excatl y what it says it is Mexican guac. It tastes alot like the restaurant chain near our house and what I purchased at a wholesale warehouse already made but 100 times better. I can't wait for my garden tomatoes to come in and for my cilantro to grow. I didn't put the jalapenos instead, I used a can of Rotel Tomatoes and green chilies, because I didn't have enough tomatoes, turns out in a pinch it was real good and the next time I will try freshed squeezed lime juice. But other than that this totally rocked. I served it with the lime flavored tortilla chips as well. Thanks Kaersten for a awesome recipe!!!

Pork Roast with Sauerkraut and Kielbasa

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2014
I made this today for our New Year's dinner. It says to cook it in a crockpot. However, mine won't fit the roast and kielbasa. So I salt and peppered it on both sides and browned it on all sides in my Dutch oven and then removed it to a plate so I could brown the kielbasa. When I was finished I put a bed of sauerkraut on the bottom and added the pork roast and kielbasa. then top it with the rest of the sauerkraut and the and fresh thyme sprigs. I cooked it on 325 degree preheated oven for 3 hours. it turned out beautifully, moist and tender. I will never cook my roast any other way.If your slow cooker won't fit all of this don't worry use your Dutch oven you won't be sorry. Also I used a little bit of brown sugar to my sauerkraut.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2014
I made this for dinner tonight, and I have to say my husband,my sixteen year old son and myself enjoyed this a lot. The sauce went together very easy, I think I may try like other reviewers rice vinegar and fresh grated ginger , maybe an extra tbsp. corn starch because, I felt it could be thicker. My son like it so much he scraped the empty platter to get the extra sauce off for his rice. I have cubed venison steaks that I will make using this sauce and I'm sure it will be spot on. Thanks for a great recipe Marian!!!!!

Tonya's Terrific Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: May 19, 2014
I made this recipe tonight for dinner. My husband and son really liked it. It would have been good the way the recipe was written but I made a few changes. I only used 1# of ground meat which was venison, and I added chopped sweet peppers along with the onion and celery. If I can sneek veggies in I do. I thought it needed more of a saucy consistency so I added more ketchup and brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce and omitted the lemon juice simply b/c I didn't have any on hand. There wasn't any left. I will jot this down on my recipe cards for a quick go to fast recipe. Thanks for a great recipe!!!
