I love food! I enjoy trying out new recipes and have found some delightful tastes through the years. It's fun to try new things even the disasters have taught me something.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a Greek family and have wonderful memories attached to certain dishes. My parents always encouraged us to be open minded about food and I'm so glad they made me try new things. I appreciate all types of cuisine, especially family recipes that have been passed down.
My cooking tragedies
Oh tragedies! They are the best teachers aren't they? The one I think of first is a thai seafood dish I tried to improvise! Somehow the coconut milk and some kind of curry didn't mix at all with the frozen seafood mix of shrimp, squid and octopus. It was horrible. Every time my husband says what a great cook I am I remind him of this dish and we laugh. We had to throw it out and get a pizza.

Asian Glazed Chicken Thighs
Very yummy. Somehow I ended up with too much liquid, probably because I baked the chicken instead of grilling or roasting. I basted about 4 times thought so the chicken did have a nice sticky coating.

Creamy Pumpkin Pie
This is a good basic pumpkin pie recipe. I also cut down the amount of pumpkin to two cups because I wasn't using my big glass pie pan. If I were, I might leave it at 4 and see what happens! Thanks for the recipe.

Pumpkin Bread IV
I made this with roasted pumkin and it was delicious. Thanks for a great recipe! I changed the spices only because I also made a pumpkin pie on the same day and wanted some variety. So I used cinnamon, cardamon, ginger, allspice and some black pepper!
