Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2013
For my 49 years of marriage I have used box mixes. Then one day I was browsing in Allrecipe as I do often. I saw this recipe & decided to try it. Well I made it & my husband & I both loved them. Then he wanted them again the next day....needless to say I have made this recipe 4 times in 2 weeks. They are light, fluffy, tasty & so delicious. I just cleaned out a cabinet tossing all my box mixes. These are so great & simple to make. I followed the direction right according to recipe. Allrecipe.com you are my best friend. So many great recipes. Keep them coming. Happy Cooking to all...Nana

Apple Pecan Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2010
I just made this for a company dessert for tomorrow night. However, my husband & I tested a small bit of it with vanella ice cream. It was just soooo good. I did cut back on the sugar to a little less the 1/2 cup & added more cinnamon. Also I cut back the sugar to 3/4 cup in the mix. I used granny apples. I may try adding some raisens or fresh cranberries the next time. Hubby & I decided that this was a fine dessert for company. :) It was so good. Thank you again Allrecipe. Happy Cooking.... Nana

Corned Beef and Cabbage I

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
Thanks again for a wonderful recipe but thanks also to all who write these great reviews. It is so nice to read what cooks think of the dish they make. Yesterday I made this Corned Beef & Cabbage & in my 45 years married to wonderful Irish husband he tells his Italian wife that it was the best yet. WOW! What is funny to me about Allrecipes.com is that now whenever I come up with a new dish, friends or family will say: Allrecipe.com?? They know me by now. The reviews helped so much on these recipes. The problem I had with this is that there were no spice packets in the pkg. so I just did my own thing…4 garlic cloves, crushed, pepper corns, mustard corns, 2 bay leaves, pepper, dry mustard & the only change I made was adding bottle of beer. When the beef was done I put it in a dish, covered with foil. Then cooked my veggies in those wonderful juices till not quite done. When they were done I put them in a dish with broth, covered with foil & put in a warm oven till I was ready to serve. Sliced my cooled down beef, put in a 13 X 9 dish covered with foil put in oven till ready to serve. I did make the Horseradish sauce and it was very good as well, but I found that it was cold next to the nice hot corned beef. I’m sticking to Grey Poupon….Also a little sprinkle of white vinegar on cabbage is great. Also helps with any problem that may occur after!! ? Outstanding!! Wow…great recipe. Thanks Laria and thank you all with the great reviews. Nana Happy St. Patrick’s D

Cinnamon Raisin Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2009
All I can say is another outstanding recipe from All Recipe. I have never made Cinnamon Raisin Bread by hand. I use to do it when I had a bread machine. We no longer have a machine. This was so easy to do. I did cheat a bit and us my stand up Kitchen Aid Mixer. I used all the flour it called for but added less then a 1/4 c. more. I put it out on counter and kneeded it more & it was so easy to work with. I must say that the rising was wonderful. May I say to those that say it does not rise correct. You may want to make sure that your bowl you put it into to rise is large enough. I had discovered this quite awhile ago when doughs were not large enough. The only othere thing I did different was not put on the glaze. This is great toasted & not toasted & freezes wonderful. Thank you for the recipe & the chalange! I will make this again very soon. Love it. Happy cooking!! Nana

St. Louis Toasted Ravioli

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2008
Sorry ~~but I do not know what I did wrong. This is the first recipe I tried from Allrecipe that didn't come out good. I used fresh ravioli & followed recipe exact. I was making these for an appetizer to bring to a dinner party. I ended up not bringing them. My husband & I are wondering if the ravioli were not good. They had a good experation date & seemed ok. When you cut it opened after it was cooked it was like a glob of dough in side. Real wierd. I have made fried ravioli before but not this recipe. Sorry.. :( Nana

Quick Yeast Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2008
Wow...I just took these out of the oven. They are outstanding. The only change I made was I used half Whole Wheat Flour. I got 9 real good size rolls from this. Next time I may try & brush w/an egg wash. Years ago I had a wonderful bread machine but it is no longer & my husband & I were trying to decide if we want to get another. Especially because of the cost of bread now. Guess what??? I just saved us $200. These are soo very easy. They will taste great with our Sausage soup this evening. Also for our Thanksgiving meal.Thank you Allrecipe you are great. Wonderful recipes & review are such a help. Keep up the good work. Happy Holidays to all you cooks & Allrecipes. Happy Cooking! Nana

Mixed Vegetable Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2008
I made this for Easter to bring to a friends for dinner. It was a big hit. I doubled the recipe. The only changes I made was I used one can cr. chicken & one can cr. of celery soup, one pkg. frozen mixed & one pkg frozen yellow & white corn & only one cup mayo & 1/4 cup sour cream. I did not defrost veggies. I mixed the soups etc. earlier & put them in the fridge then mix all the rest the last min. Thanks for this one..Nana

The Greatest Grilled Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2007
Wow for Grilled Turkey! It was so simple, so very good, so very moist. Gave me a free oven to do as I please.I did not do the Italian spice..I put the apple, chuncked orange, fresh sage, onion, celery & garlic in the cavity. Brushed w/melted butter. Put some white wine in the roasting pan. Used it for the broth for my gravy. We will NEVER cook a turkey in the oven again. Thanks again Allrecipes. Happy Holidays..Nana

Mini Reubens

These were just wonderful. An oldie but a good one. I did broil each side of bread first so I could prepare these in advance. I did not a lot of dressing on the bread. They were just enjoyed by all. Thank you for sharing. Nana

WOW..This is the first time I have made this & it is outstanding. I did make it up ahead before frying & left in fridge about 2 hours. I fryed in a fry pan as I do not own a fryer. They were great. No problems what so ever except they are so good they walked off the plate. I used Stonewall Kitchen Orange,Cranberry Marmalade w/gran mustard & horseradish. Just great..as good as Out Back.
