About this Cook
I was born and raised in Gilbert, AZ. I love to bake especially but I also love to cook dinners etc. I play volleyball and I love swimming. Allrecipes.com is usually the first place I go to to find a recipe. When I'm not in the kitchen whipping up culinary masterpieces I'm playing with my dog, swimming, eating my culinary masterpieces, or just watching tv.
My favorite things to cook
I like making cheesecakes mainly because I love decorating them and I LOVE eating them! (the cooking process not so much). I like doing stuff with chicken and breads too. My all time favorite thing to do though is decorate various desserts perfectively!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My dad would always make honey baked ham for Christmas. And when I was little for Thanksgiving my mother would let me help make a cranberry-orange coleslaw type of thing. It was my favorite being so little and getting to use a hand grinder pretending I was Cinderella! As i got older though My favorite food was dad's steak that he prepped for hours and was eating in 2 minutes very good.
My cooking triumphs
Mainly anything with chicken, cookies, cheesecake, (any type of sweets really), grilling and decorating cakes etc.
My cooking tragedies
Made from scratch spaghetti sauce, my first ever cheesecake, chicken pot pies.

Lemon Square Bars
Very good and very quick and easy to make! However I did find that they did burn at all the edges and were very hard to cut out. A hint from experience: Add the powdered sugar AFTER cutting will make it easier to cut. but very delicious anyhow!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake
Very good. I used a little less sour cream as suggested on other reviews and added half a cup of milk chocolate chips after putting the batter into the pan too. A water bath is definitely needed and in order to keep the cheesecake white and professional looking only cool it in the oven for 1 hour. If it does pop up at the edges or turn discolored in any area just use a hot wet knife to level it out, or just cover with some delicious preserves! Again very very good and very impressive to guests

Ham and Pineapple Kabobs
This was absolutely DELICIOUS! Everything about it was good. the coating mixture sound odd and a little bit gross but if you add everything to it it turns out delicious! I even like to double up on it and just cook the kabobs for longer in order to get more of the sweet glaze on there. I will make this again and again. I made it for a party once and they were the first platter gone. Also if you are wondering how to find good ham chunks, I found that "Jennie-O Lean Turkey Ham" is full of flavor and easy to cut into cubes.
