About this Cook
Hey! I'm just your average human lookin for something fun to do on rainy days when my friends can't comeover. Recently, I got pretty serious about cooking and really made some good stuff. Love this website lots btw.
My favorite things to cook
I love love love love love baking/cooking elaborate desserts. Only problem is I'm on a strict diet to cut down sugars and fats! But once in a while ;)
My favorite family cooking traditions
All kinds of Russian food. Borsh, vinigrette, zkorya....the list goes on and on. I like cooking Russian stuff because it reminds my parents of their former homes in Russia.
My cooking triumphs
TURKEY! Thanksgiving is my all time favorite holiday and I'm telling you, I worked that turkey. Turkey came out PERFECTO! Amazing for a beginner and first timer.
My cooking tragedies
Chocolate Chip Cookies. I dunno whats with me I just cannot, cannot bake normal chocolate chip cookies. But someday, I shall defeat this and make the ultimate chocolat chip cookies!!! Yeah right.... UPDATE: Succeeded in making awesome cookies. But they're low fat, low sugar, checkerboard cookies. Vanilla Hazelnut and Chocolate Orange Checkerboard cookies. Ooolalala.... BUT! I'm trying to get better at making the perfect eclair. My pate a choux comes out fabulous, the chocolate glaze is just right....but I can't make a normal pastry cream!!! I am HORRIBLE at using corn starch! It's somehow always too much. Maybe I'll just buy vanilla pudding from a box.............

Greek Lentil Soup (Fakes)
Its a good, healthy, quick recipe. I added fresh chives and yellow pepper as well as more onion. An addition of potatoes would make it even better. :)
